Official Parker Press Release:
Morehead City, NC (May 30, 2023) - Parker Offshore, in conjunction with The North Carolina Coastal Federation and Carteret Community College, is thrilled to lend support to safeguarding the coastal environment through a transformative marsh grass planting event. This joint effort forms part of an ambitious living shoreline project aimed at revitalizing and nurturing the vibrant coastal ecosystems that sustain our oceans.
The primary objective of this marsh grass planting initiative is to combat erosion while fostering essential habitats for marine life. By fortifying the shoreline with salt marsh grasses, we strive to provide a robust defense against the erosive forces of nature and create flourishing sanctuaries for a diverse array of aquatic species. Our dedication to the local region and its unparalleled coastal treasures is what drives Parker Offshore to step up and contribute to the protection, restoration, and education surrounding North Carolina’s coastal waters.
President of Parker Boats, Scott Bauer, stated, “This is the third year in a row our team has been proud to help our partners at Carteret County Community College plant marsh grass to protect the beautiful shoreline on their campus in Morehead City, NC. We are blessed to have a team that loves to serve our community!”
Parker Offshore’s participation in this volunteer event underlines our unwavering commitment to effecting positive change within our community. We aim to serve as an inspiration for others, urging them to join us in safeguarding the precious coastline we all call home. By collaborating with esteemed organizations such as The North Carolina Coastal Federation and Carteret Community College, we hope to instill a sense of responsibility and empower individuals to make a tangible difference in the preservation of our coastal ecosystems.
