Waco, TX (June 21, 2019) - Known as two of the biggest innovators across the history of wake sports, Nautique Boats and The World Wake Association (WWA) are bringing the Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by Rockstar Energy back to Waco, Texas for 2019. Towed exclusively behind the 4X Wakesurf Boat of the Year, the Super Air Nautique G23, this event was the first of the movement to evolve the competitive side of wakesurfing back in 2018.
The Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by Rockstar Energy will be the premier, family-oriented wakesurfing event of the season that will take place on August 30th – September 1st at BSR Cable Park in Waco, Texas. This event has a place for wakesurfers of all ages and ability levels starting with novice up to the pro divisions, and includes $20,000 in prize money up for grabs. The Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships will serve as the fifth stop of the 2019 Nautique Wakesurf Series.
“I’m thrilled to bring the Nautique USA Wakesurf Nationals back to Waco, Texas,” said Nautique President, Greg Meloon. “This event is for all skill levels and ages, and we love to watch everyone compete behind the best wakesurf boat in the industry, the G23!”
In 2018 Nautique and the WWA worked with an exclusive panel of wakesurfing’s top athletes and officials to create the next generation of competitive wakesurfing format, judging criteria, and divisions. Athletes will continue to compete in a rider-developed format that rewards the uniqueness of both skim and surf styles equally in the amateur and pro divisions alike. The Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by Rockstar Energy will be the last event for riders to compete in to earn their remaining points towards the opportunity to compete at the final event of the season, the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships. Riders will have the chance to be invited to this prestigious, culminating event of the Nautique Wakesurf Series through their placement on Wakesurf World Rankings. On top of all the action behind the Nautique G23, the Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships will be held in combination with the Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships for an incredible weekend at BSR Cable Park that is unlike anything wake has experienced. Participants of the Wakesurf Nationals will once again receive exclusive access to the all-new BSR Surf Resort, one of the nation’s most sought-after wave pools.
The Nautique USA National Wakesurf Championships presented by Rockstar Energy will feature athletes from across the U.S. battling it out for a title and $20,000 in prize money in the pro divisions. As one of the most anticipated events of the year, registration will be capped and space will be limited.
