Jeff's 2008 Super Air Nautique 230 Team Edition

Well, the ZR6 being 390 HP is a big change over the 2007 boats. One design change that I noticed immediately is the hinge on the rear hatches. Last year they had this weird hinge that forced you to open the hatches in just the right way or the hatches would hang and not open properly. That has been resolved with a new hinge and air shock. It is much better now. The stereo is the CMD5 now. Last year it was the CMD4A. The ski locker/tank has been slightly redesigned. The interior striping pattern is different on the 230 than the 236, and I like th 230 design much better. The spinner racks use a push-button release now instead of the pin that you had to remove last year in order to spin the racks. They are certainly continuing to improve this boat.

Your tower speakers look different than the Nautique cans, did you go with something different? Any reason for that or just personal preference?

Those tower speakers would be a set of Wetsounds Pro 485s. Way to go Jeff, those look sweet on the tower!! What kind of amps do you have powering those?? Please tell me you are also installing a WS-420. I think might complete the package. Any upgrades to the interior speakers?

Well, I have a WS-420 and a set of Wet Sounds speaker covers on the way. I think that will complete the package nicely.

That's cool, you'll have to let us know how it turns out, it should sound great! I always love the looks of the Alpha cans on the tower, they just look so good but they won't come close to your setup. So how long before we "hear" you out on Lake Anna? Enjoy the new set up, it is a beautiful boat.

No, not yet. I am still waiting to get an amp. I also have a WS-420 on the way from Wet Sounds, so I am waiting to get all of the parts before hooking anything up.

I did have the boat out on Saturday. Everything else seems to work nicely.

Got to ride behind it for the first time yesterday. I have decided to keep the lead out of the boat this year since we usually will have a one-year-old in the boat with us, so I was just running stock ballast. The wake was incredible though. With three adults and a kid in the boat, the wake shaped up nicely and was even and firm at 23 MPH. I am very happy with it.

Jeff have you thought an more about the custom ski locker sac?? It really took the white wash out of the top of mine. I bought a nother pump for that sac but spliced into the factory wiring so that it runs off of the belly tank switch. I did put in relays so that it has its own power source. It makes a nice difference.

Oh you will love the ws-420 and the 485's. I have 500 watts to each 485 and they scream!!

Yeah, still looking into the additional sacs. Hopefully I'll be able to get them added before too long.

Laketexoma; do you only have an additional sack in the ski locker? Or also weight on other places?
I'm planning to run our 230 just stock, but if you guys say that with a ski locker sack the wake increases in size and firmness with 30% I'll look into that...
I hope that we can check our 230 in 7 days from now!!!

The main difference I saw was that the wash at the top of the wake was gone. I havent had a chance to run it with the stock ballast only. We always have 4-5 people in the boat.
