SAN is finally back (pics)! A few ballast questions...

Well a couple weeks ago I finally got my 99 SAN back from getting the trailer redone, tower powder coated, new interior and tower speakers installed, perfect pass installed, new skin on the rear deck, and a few other little things.
All in all I think it turned out pretty good. It took a little bit longer than I planned on, but the guy gave me a good deal.
I have taken the boat out a few times and I don't think the ballast to the rear tanks is working. When I hit the fill switch I don't hear any pump going so it is either bad wiring somewhere, or a bad pump. The ballast setup on this thing is kind of weird.

Now to my questions... I want to add a three bag system (possibly four). two in the rear compartments, one in the ski locker, and one possibly up front.

    1) Should I just tear out the stock system and replace it with jabsco pumps? It looks like the pumps in the existing system are in a tough place to get to, what would be the procedure of getting these pumps out?

    2) If I took out the hard tanks and aerator pumps, can I keep all of the original plumbing and just add a jabsco (w/switches) and sacs?

    3) If anybody has any other suggestions on what would be the best setup and what has worked for you, please let me know!

Thanks a lot guys. Here are a couple before and after pics of the boat...

By redoing the ballast system will I have drill new holes in the bottom or can I use the existing holes?

You will have to drill new ones but it is so worth it. I just helped a buddy yank out his factory ballast stuff in a 99 SAN. We installed three jabsco ballast puppies and new fligh high bags. He did this after he spent some time in my boat and saw how fast and easy it was. The other guy who I ride with did hi sa month ago too with the same setup. Search for 1998 super sport ballast and see my install.

Go the Jabsco way. You will need to drill new thru-hulls but it is worth it. It was my winter project and it works great.

A bit off topic, but can I ask how much it cost to have your trailer redone? Mine is in pretty rough shape with surface corrosion on other suspect parts, but I didn’t know how much I would be looking at to get it brought up to date.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Sadly it sat uncovered for 4 years but I'm way excited to bring this boat back to life!

Crazy, I actually was going to fly over to Utah to take a look at that boat but ended up picking up a different 99 that was over in Vegas.

You'll have to post some photo's of 99 you picked up. This one is needing some upholstery work and a new tower.

I knew that boat had some rough upholstery spots, definitely looks worse than the original pictures I saw though. Hopefully you picked it up for a good deal, it sounded like the seller was really trying to unload it.

This is the boat I ended up picking up, 274 original hours, spent the majority of its life hidden away in a storage unit.

Was the tower damaged or just don't like the look of the OG FCT?

I'm on the hunt for another FCT2 like I had on my old Sport.

I really like your boat, looks like it's in fantastic shape, The cushions on my boat are in good condition but all the seat backs are bad. About my tower, originally I just did not care for the looks and need something that folds down more flat. I discovered that the tower is busted on top by the connection, it is an easy repair but I'm wanting something different. I'm thinking about the Airboom 3D tower.
