I discovered that the tower is busted on top by the connection, it is an easy repair but I'm wanting something different. I'm thinking about the Airboom 3D tower.
In other words all the expense parts are bad lol... I completely fell into this new boat, it was for sale on a random ad over a year ago and the owner wasn't all that motivated to get rid of it. Said he used it 3 times in the last 3 years. He was completely thrown off when I called him and asked if he still had the boat and if it was for sale.

If you can't find a used FCT2 (they're definitely getting harder to find) I'd look at New Dimensions, they're not cheap but they make an exact clone of the FCT2. IMO that's the best looking tower for these boats. No rattles like a lot of the other aftermarket options out there too!

When looking for a used boat we were set on either Red & white or Black & Tan, So when I saw this Red come up for sale and it was only an hour drive away... Bonus for me!! I knew when I first saw the photo's that the tower had to go just because I didn't like the looks. I could also tell and he did say in the add that the seat backs were needing to be replaced.

This is the boat I ended up picking up, 274 original hours, spent the majority of its life hidden away in a storage unit.

Dude that's crazy that you found the "actual" boat! It has been used for a scam on CL for over a year! When I was looking about a year and a half ago I saw it posted, contacted the seller, but turned out to be a scam. Ever since then, even still now, it keeps popping up on CL all over the US, registration numbers removed.
          What a gem, congrats!

MPetty, go New Dimension for a tower, like Gdee says. Only 'legit' and best looking tower for these boats. Also will be adding value to the boat, instead of taking away from it. Sweet boats guys!

It's funny you say that, because I had sworn I had seen the boat on a Seattle CL ad last year for waaaaayyyy too cheap and it only had one photo, I did email the supposed seller but never heard back, but I wasn't 100% sure if this was the same boat. It's actually kind of a funny story because I hadn't even planned on selling my old SSN but a guy I knew called my out of the blue and asked me if I'd sell it. I named my price and he paid it, so off I went looking for a new boat. One of the first boats I considered was the boat that MPetty bought!

I was doing a google image search for 99 SAN because I was trying to remember the subtle differences from the 99 to the 01 and click on the image I posted and it linked to this stupid boats of the use site and the ad was like over a year old, it did however happen to have a phone number. So the next day I called the number and this old guy answers, I ask for him by name and before I can even tell him what I'm calling about he interrupts me and says "I don't know who the **** this is, call me back and leave me a voicemail telling me who you are!" and hangs up on me.

I was totally put off and was kinda like whatever FU in the back of my mind, but I called back and left a voicemail saying who I was and wanted to know if he happed to have the boat still for sale. About an hour later I get a call back and he says sorry I get like 30 calls per day from people trying to sell me drugs from online pharmacies lol. So we chat about the boat for a bit, he wasn't that motivated to sell it and it's just been sitting in storage for the last 3 years or so since his kids are grown up and none of his friends are interested in going out on the lake with him at their age.

So... long story short I had to wait anxiously two weeks to get the cash for my old boat, booked a flight to Vegas and went to close the deal. The boat was everything he said it was for the most part, a few little very minor cosmetic things that need to be fixed but the boat looks like it's maybe 3-4 years old. The trailer has a few rough spots but nothing too bad. He actually even had the Boat Trader from 2001 when he originally purchased the boat!

It was definitely a score, now I'm just waiting on the shipping guys to pick it up on the 13th and bring her home. Sadly it's going to be a bit till it sees the water since the weather is now crap here in the NW.

Thanks, I like the red boat you picked up. My old boat was red and silver cloud. The wife told me she didn't want another red boat, my sons favorite color is green and has said forever he wanted our next boat to be green, of course I've told him I'd never buy a green boat... Little did I know a month later I'd end up buying a green boat lol.

If you're going to do the cleanup yourself I'd recommend using some Presta Heavy cut on a 7" polisher with a wool pad followed up with a good sealer. You'll be amazed at what the heavy cut will do for the gel coat, it'll shine like new if you put the hours into it.

I'm guessing this is your first Nautique?

Let's just say I picked the boat up for a GREAT deal.

Strange thing is all of my boats have had some sort of a weird story behind them, my last one I got from a 76 year old retired Bering Sea crab captain turned recreational marijuana grower lol. Boat was stored in a shop attached to 36k square feet of indoor Marijuana!

MPetty, Definitely look into the towers from New Dimensions, they're pretty much an exact clone of the original FCT2. Like Trip said, you'll find an aftermarket tower will definitely lower the value of you boat. I'd say either keep the original FCT and have it repaired or go ND.

You'll find a lot of Nautique owners are purists.
