Giving my 94 Sport a face lift. Needs some suggestions

I bought a 94 Sport last summer for a steal and I am in the process of giving it a new look. The previous owner didn't have a cover for several years so the the interior needs to be replaced and I figure it would be a good time to update the look a little. I'm not a huge fan of the colors (magenta & teal) and was probably going to get either a basic stripe wrap to cover the existing colors or do a more involved wrap to change the whole look.

I have been brainstorming with the wife but wanted to hear what suggestions you might have. I'll keep this updated along the way to show the transformation. I'm thinking about making my old 94 sport masquerade as a newer SAN. What do you think I should do?...

I think that you cannot make that boat masquerade as a newer SAN, because it is a direct drive. You could do it with an older super sport, but not a sport. You can get a very close wake however, with enough weight. The tower is also not factory, so that is also a giveaway. I tend to lean old school, so personally I would just leave the exterior (maybe have it polished/buffed and waxed) and would replace the interior with all white. That way, you could do any wrap you want in the future, if you decide to go that route.

Based on my personal experience of working quite a bit to improve my 99 Air, I would say that the upgrades that I have enjoyed most to date are: (1) my Kicker KMT6 tower speakers, (2) my Wetsounds WS420 EQ, and (3) my soon to be installed auto-ballast system. My new interior is nice, but I am much more anal about stuff after having it replaced. My freshair exhaust is nice, but it is less noticeable of an upgrade. I would concentrate first on the things that will actually allow you to enjoy your boat more, save you time, etc. and only after that on the things that are merely cosmetic. This is of course if you plan on keeping the boat for a while. If you plan on flipping it, cosmetic all the way.

My first Nautique was a '97 Sport so I'm a fan. I loved that boat. If I had your boat, here's what I'd do:

      1) Solid gloss black wrap over the purple stripe only
      2) Replace interior vinyl with white main and black primary stripe, maybe throw in some gray as an accent (it would all still go with the purple if someone decided to remove the wrap at some point.
      3) Throw some "Nautique" chromax lettering down the side, just because it is awesome
      4) Stereo is a must
      5) Not a priority but I would eventually swap the tower for a New Dimensions, just to give it a newer factory look.

My $0.02. Otherwise, enjoy! Nothing better than getting a screaming deal on a boat and making it look sweet!

Got a kick out of this!

I went over to CCFan to check out the '94 brochure and came across this stellar layout. Check out Eric Perez pulling a "radical air," rememba' him? The days of the "ski board" and short shorts. Awesome.

I spent a few hours today wet sanding and buffing the gelcoat and had a question.

On the white sides where the "Sport Nautique" logo was there is a very slight difference between the color where the logo was and wasn't. If I keep sanding will I get down to where the faded white and original white match? Or has the sun burned the color all the way through over the years? It's only noticeable because I saw what it looked like before the wet sanding job but probably not to anyone else. I just don't want to over do it.
