    2010 200 ob

Here are some shots of our new Ski Nautique 200. We picked it a week and a half ago but have only been able to use it twice!

This is on a loaner trailer as we are waiting for ours to be built.

Here it is in the water.

I know that it may seem blasphemous to have a tower on a ski boat but I think it makes for a good family compromise.

I am moving up from a 1990 Century CTS with a big block. I have given up a little top speed, the 200 tops out at 40.5 mph with the hydrogate down and 42.5 mph with it up, but the wake is a huge improvement.

I am really excited about this boat and cant wait to get it back on the lake.

Beautiful boat! I think the tower is just much smarter, more storage space. A ski boat with no board racks is really quite annoying at times.

I will agree that it looks like it will be nice to get the boards out of the boat. I also need to add a bimini anyway so I ordered a Z5 which should make for a clean installation.

With my last boat, I lived with the shortcomings for a long time before I realized that I just needed to fix them. With that in mind, I made a quick mod on the storage lid where the radio is located. This lid doesn't open nearly far enough as shown in this photo...

So I simply removed the rear strut mounting screws and move the bracket up so the bottom bracket hole uses the top screw hole. The strut still allows the door to close completely without binding.

While this is much better but I am still considering making a custom bracket so it will open farther.

Maybe I shouldn't make so many posts in my own thread? I did want to point out one more very small mod that I did today while I watched it rain. The ski lockers have latches that use a bolt as the adjustment. The problem is that these bolts vibrate in (or out) changing the setting. I picked up two 5M stainless Stop Nuts ($0.55 each at ACE) to fix this problem. These are small things that, while not necessary, will make the boat more pleasurable to use. Here is the photo...

Yeah, I am adding another post. Not sure if anyone is reading these but I can't seem to help myself.

Today, I had my first opportunity to slalom (free) behind the boat. I can tell you that I am amazed by the wake. My Century CTS was a pretty heavy boat and had a good, but not great wake. A friend bought a Malibu Response LX a few years ago (maybe 5) and it has a great wake. This boat is a huge step up! I confirmed that I made the right decision to buy this boat today...I couldn't be happier!

Now I can't wait to hit a course.

What lake do you ski on? I'd sure love to get a pull or two behind it and see how it drives thru our course.

Here are a few photos with the Z5. These are all I have, sorry they are not better.

I fabricated a pvc pole to support the front of the Z5 when lowering it to go in the garage...you can see it in this photo.

I also decided to polish the top half of the throttle ball and the hydrogate knob. They were both clear coated so I had to bead blast them first. I think they turned out pretty nice.

Love the boat. I just ordered a 2011 with the same exterior colors (however no tower).

The polished throttle ball and the hydrogate knob look very cool. Good idea to keep in mind.

It is going to be a long cold winter in Michigan waiting for the ice to melt so I can get a set behind the new boat.

Is the tower for the 200 a regular size FCT3 or is it a little smaller? Just curious. Can't tell for sure from the picture. I thought I read it was using a downsized version of the Wakeboard FCT3.

Beautiful boat by the way !!!
