    95 super sport

New to the forum. New to boats. Just sold my two motorcycles to get this new toy. 280 hours. Super clean. Drove 1500 miles round trip to get it from one of the nicest Dealers I have ever dealt with. They were Naut Dealer until 01 when they changed to MC. But we won't hold that against them. Haha. Props to them for their professionalism. Boat house marine in Rootstown OH. Thanks!!!! I will post pics when I get home -still driving back - 500 miles to go.

I checked the boat out on that places web site before you posted the pictures, now after looking a these new ones I have to ask:

How do people find these great deals on great condition used boats? I search OnlyInboards, boat trader, and search Craigslist nationwide, clearly there is other methods.

That is a sweet boat, especially at the price it was listed for on their site. You should have a great time with it next year. (And if you have to dump it before then, let me know )

95 SS - very happy new owner

Believe me I looked everywhere for any V drive but my buddy has a SAN 06 and said you need a Naut for that hull. So I stopped looking at MC, Mali and Moombas even though you can find those at what my budget was. $15k-$17k. Typically used with accessories run in the $18-$20k. But I wanted the 95-06 hull. This one popped up on eBay and I immediately called them and asked them for there buyit price, made them an offer and they accepted. Iwould call them and give then your info in case they get one in that meets your needs. They have a good inventory and I can't say enough about Chris and James. Truely the nicest people I have ever dealt with. This boat is mint and better than expected. I drove 1400 miles and 23 hours to get it and it didn't disappoint. It was just for boat and trailer. No accessories or tower or ballast. But worth it. Tell them Torsten referred you to them. They will treat you right. Also go to www.jaxed.com then go to "mashed" and search for your boat. This site searches craigslist and eBay combined. It's where I found their local ad. Good luck. You'll find what you want even if you have to drive a bit.

          something to watch for...

Something I forgot to say in my last post... I am new to boats and I found a gem but it is not without its faults though. I did find that the vinyl is getting to its point of no return. it is so old (15 years) in sun and storage and water, that it is to its breaking point. I did not know this but it gets so brittle that it almost turns into plastic and if you step on it or knee it wrong, it will pop and crack like it was plastic... this boat does have this problem which means I will be spending some more money replacing some vinyl soon... but it is 15 years old and if thats all thats wrong, I can deal with it. I got it home, started to buff off the road grime from 1500 miles and I stepped on the back deck with my heal, now it has a small crack in the vinyl.. so it means I have to be careful stepping on it until I can replace it.. just check this before you buy a boat in that vintage. Now for the Tower, Ballast, Stereo.. etc... I photoshopped an image of what I think would look good using the new Shield graphics and tower.. check it out.. Not sure when this will become a reality but vinyl is my first priority I think.

Welcome to the club! Boat looks great!

I hear you on the that vinyl. I've cracked and popped my rear deck vinyl all up with my knee. Since I was not the original owner it wasn't taken care of the way I would have. I will be replacing my rear deck vinyl also, hopefully before spring

              Vinyl issues..

Wake_fun, Thanks! I love your boat and what you have done to it. I agree, I'm so anal about my toys, I would have done a better job taking care of it.. but.. its 15 years old... I'm sure the vinyl would go no matter how well you treated it. I sent a note to Nautiqueskins to see about cost of the rear deck for this model. I also have a local guy doing boat/auto/snow mobile stuff who might be able to do a good deck for less... but I need to match the design, or no go...! Yeah, Last night I brought it home and put my knee on the deck and heard a POP... **** it..

I totally dig your ballast system, I was going to send you a message about it.. over the winter here in WI.. (its Long!).. I will be accumulating the parts.... I am going to do it very similar. Instead of drilling additional vent holes, could you not just "y" into the vent holes for the bilge and/or the dash cooler drain... ? (as long as you check valve them).? Hate the thought of drill more holes. (I know I have to drill the 1.5" intake on the bottom)... I think I will start with 1 pump and build from there... the cost of 3 bags/pumps/etc...is a little steep for me right now, besides selling to to the wife!! haha..

Did you use Marine Speakers/Amps in your system ? (without searching your post)?

Thanks! I'm sure I will be on this site more now...!

I haven't got a quote yet from Nautique Skins. Let me know what they quote you, foam and vinyl. You could do a "y" if you wanted, I just don't know how much will go out vs. going down to the bilge. You don't have put a vent if you don't want, I did it so I didn't have to watch the bags when getting full. My center sac vents out the drivers side. No on the Marine stereo system, it's all JL Audio regular equipment. Still perfect after all these years.

I'm still waiting on a quote too, but I will let you know... I asked only about the back deck. I have a guy in town that does some good work I am told, but I have not seen any completed work. I am going to bring him the bow pad which also needs replacement vinyl and give him a try. The bow pad doesnt have any colors or major stitching to screw up. I did some more cleaning on it today and I am pretty please with this boat. I just cant wait to get it out in the Spring. The ski locker is clean and the rear bilge is too..... I like clean.

Is the vinyl issue just with the back deck, or are the seats tender too? I have a 95 SN closed bow and have had no issues with the vinyl on any seats, but the previous owner kept it on a covered lift. Noob, we should hook up next summer midway MN-WI, Later.

There is a local Twin Cities guy that re-made my friends deck vinyl on his 99 SAN. You would never know it wasn't factory. PM me and i will get you his tele.

                      congrats on the new boat.

                        Vinyl

Well, the worst is the back deck. I put down a knee and it spidercracked the vinyl like plastic. The open bow pad was seriously weathered too it is already cracked. The seats are marginal and starting to get hard and unplyable. I think the old owner did not take care and cover it properly. A little disappointing but I will probably run it till it really needs replacing. Nautiqueskins quoted $195 for bow pad and $400 for rear deck which would solve the major problems.

Great find! I like the second picture with the NDT.
I'm getting some of my upholstery done through Copycat Covers as they are cheaper than Nautiqueskins but I'm afraid that I will get what i paid for and the customer service is not good! If I could do it all over again I would have kept saving money and went with Nautiqueskins!
I look forward to seeing your boat upgrades! This board is full of knowledgeable and willing people so have fun with it!

                            Thanks

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.. I am pumped to get this the way I want it. I am working on a Sub box for under dash driver side kick panel.. coming along nicely, just need the sub to put in and the amp. ( I have all winter

I think I need to replace the clarion speakers in the boat, they dont sound that good. I am sure there two schools of thought and I need to search the site, but I need to decide on marine speakers/amp or auto... it seems to me that the marine stuff is lower power? or is that me? I want to put a 10" Fosgate P3D410 and a suitable amp that puts out 500+ watts to power it... I will post pics when I get further along with it.
