Bought this boat from Clint Zuber and Zuber construction in Spokane WA. He lied about everything and it has turned into quite the investment and restoration. Just professionally replaced stringers, floor, carpet, 2 amps, 1 sub, 6 speakers, white guages, perfect pass, all complete. It needs to be repainted professionally. Can't justify gel coating as it has already been painted. Need to get the original graphic pattern. I saw a guy who used a black outline on the 1977 font and airbrushed the black outline into his blue letters. It looked beautiful. Original but tweaked. I will end up removing all cleats, horn and tower eventually so her beautiful lines can be enjoyed by all. Still need the music and perfect pass though. Original but tweaked eventually. Can't buy the sound of a 1977 new. And that is my favorite part about inboards.

Let me guess....... stringers were perfect, floor had no softspots, indoor stored, the whole 9 yards ?
looks like solid work. What did the pro stringer job cost you?
Nice recovery, and hat's off to you for keeping it as original as you can !!!the WakeSlayer

too much
The stringer job cost me a lot but I don't care anymore. This boat is worth the investment to me now that she is mine. My 3 kids 7,5 and 3 are going to learn how to ski, wakeboard and surf behind a classic. And they will grow up fond of the sound of summer.. The inboard nautique pre 1985 or whenever they started messing with the exhaust pipes.
I am posting here and CCfan.com to see if anyone has the 1977 print of the original water line and lettering. Ideally I would like to make this even more original. A guy on CCfan had a black outline on the 1977 lettering and then used an airbrush to smoke the black outline into his blue letters. Nothing gaudy just updated original. The paint job you see is going to be professionally redone this winter. It won't be a gel coat as it has already been painted but it will make her look flawless. Not too glossy but a matted clear coat on top of a brillant white.
-10 below in Minneapolis. Can't wait for April. Break out that dry suit!!

Exactly
Thank you for posting his boat here. Eventually I need to trace someone else's or buy the pattern so I can have someone paint it on mine. My boat has already been painted so I don't have the original print to trace or use.

Update..Restoration complete
Update. The restoration is complete. Tower is off. Cleats are off. Special Thanks to Mark at Fiberglass Plus in Fort Ripley MN for the brand new gel coat. And thank you for talking me in to Gel vs. repainting. He took all the paint off and sprayed the best Gel Coat I have seen. Used Acrtic White from the mid-80's nautiques. Also special thanks to Big Al Thomas in Jacksonville Florida for the Vinyl Graphics with the "feathered in" or "shaded" look and the 1'8th black pin strip. I am not sure it could have turned out any better. Boat should be in a museum but she looks awlfully good in the water.
