    Tower less 07' 220 SAN

As the title says....my 07' 220 SAN was tower less......for a week. Before pics show badly oxidized racks and components (I was not responsible for letting it go..new boat to me). Started the cleanup/polish with the mirror bracket. As the pic shows negligible results without wet sanding and bringing it back to a polish (more time than I had to dedicate to getting it the way I would be proud of....) So opted for a fine textured black powder coat...hookup courtesy of GasMan87....THX!!

Let me know what you think...last photo is a little grainy.........Off to the stereo guy this week....for new AudioFormz 8" HLCD Tower Speakers, 500.2 amp and Kicker 6.5's

Is that black on the tower a "flat" or "satin" finish? Looks good! Did you take the feet off the tower before powder coating?

I think the new tower looks really awesome and if you have more pics, please post them.

Mildly unrelated - I think the original 220 has experienced a... uh... lull in popularity for now, but in a few years I bet it will be a HIGHLY sought-after boat. I predict that whatever the current resale rate is for that boat to end its' downward trend. Mid 40's? Expect to pay that for one, or get that for one, for some years - and no less. As I am currently boatless, the original 220 is high on my list. Good job on spiffing your boat up. I love the 220.

The 220 is the first and perhaps only boat Correct Craft has ever made that has such tower-ready, tower-specific parts of the molds. Maybe they incorporated into later designs but when I was there seeing a behind-the-scenes 220 thing, they showed off how tower-specific boat that was - and vocally lamented the orders they did receive which specified "no tower" by the customer.

Per my PC guy it is "Fine Textured" finish so that we could hide some of the bad oxidation spots without having to wet sand more than necessary. The feet are siliconed in place with two metal pins that match up to the hull. I had the bottom of the feet left bare as well as other close contact areas (none of which are visible )

Erik.... I have been on a remove/replace spree with this since I started taking the tower down. As soon as I catch my breath this weekend I will take a few more pics as long as the 8's are installed. I tend to agree on your 220 logic and hope it holds true.
