9 years old and still running strong

Just changed out the risers, manifolds, new exhaust hoses, topped off all fluids, re-finished teak swimstep, washed the carpet and finally a good coat of wax. She will be 10 in April with 550 current hours. Cannot say enough good things about the 2003 Super Air Team Edition....have had a lot of fun behind her and in her. Sacked down plus 4 or 5 people...hands down one of the best wakes around.

Did you do the labor yourself? I am wanting to do everything you did minus the fluids. Just curious about labor time. I know the parts prices btw.

Yes I did all the labor myself, I like doing stuff like that so it was actually fun taking it all apart and putting it back together. Risers and manifolds 1 hour to remove both sides once I got everything out of the way. Install was about 90 minutes, I really took my time to make sure I had anti sieze on all the bolts and to make sure everything was aligned just right. The manifolds are heavy so it would help to have another hand holding them while you put the bolts in. Sand and re-finish the swimstep was an hour start to finish. Carpets were 30 minutes tops and I had a solid hour into the wax job. I hit the tower, the inside and all the exterior with a buffer...all in all it was 2 days worth of work between getting in and out of the boat. I removed and checked every single hose and clamp on the entire engine. I pulled apart my water pump and checked it out along with the impeller.....I figure I saved myself at least 1k in labor if I had a shop do it.

What made you change the risers and manifolds? I have the exact same boat but in black and am just curious. Nice looking ride!

beautiful boat, and way to go on knocking it all out yourself. i happen to think very highly of the 03 too ... am going to check out your manifold thread, was also curious about why that was necessary

** i see, has been in brackish water. was definitely a great idea then, well done ... **

Every time we get on our new boat i say to my wife "we should have never sold the 03 SANTE". In fact my daughter mocks me i say it so much. That was the best boat i ever had period!

Hands down my favorite year for the Super Air's...unmistakable when you see them on the water.

@ Wakefun....I'm still around...enjoying watching my son grow up. He is 5 now, just finished coaching him in his first year of T-Ball.

Gramps, seeing a picture of your boat is falling in love all over again. I remember watching the evolution of your boat when you posted as you bought it, the tower and speakers were removed and powder coated, trailer, etc. It is still as beautiful as ever.
