I accidently posted before I was able to complete my post. Then it timed out before I could edit it so I will just tell the story here.
This isnt exactly a restoration, I call it more of a rescue. The PO had not taken care of this boat and it was in bad shape but saveable.
I have had it for a year and continue to find small issues and correct them. Its been frustrating at times chasing down problems but satisfying to get them fixed. I almost have it where I want it. Its my second inboard and first Nautique. I am totally sold on them. Part of the reason is all the information sharing that goes on here and CCF. Its awesome to find help here. Here is what I have done so far, New diamond plate, guide pads, bunks, saftey chain on the trailer, new thermostat, impeller, changed all fluids, new tower, tachometer, platform, backseat reupholster, cleaned dog hair and shampooed carpet, new dash plaques, new cover, wet sanded in spots and compounded/waxed all the oxidation out of it,still cant get all the scratches out. I used some seadek to cover up some of the gouges, modified the bimini to fit under the tower, new rub rail, all new decals.
Here are a few pics of where it was when I got it.

Still have a few things to do like replace the steering cable but a lot of TLC has made this boat really look and perform well again.

The cool thing about MT is we get that glass almost every morning.

But wait, there's more. His area is known, I believe, as the Gallatin Gateway . . . the Belgrade exit is about an hour drive to Big Sky, and a little further and you're at the doorstep of Yellowstone NP.

I know I am! My river only looks like that on early Monday mornings, any other time there are so many dang boats it gets all chopped up.

i recognized that landscape. i'm from ND, miss that big sky country. nice boat.

one question. in the walkway to the bow, in front of the ski locker, what supports that that raised piece of carpet/board? i'm thinking of making something similar and adding cushion/vinyl on top.

There is two braces on each side originally. Before I got it some one reinforced it in the middle with a 4 x 4 chunk of wood
thanks everyone for all the compliments on the boat and Montana
