New to me 00 super air

Just just picked up my first Nautique today..it's a 2000 super air gt40 with 800 hours. Has all maintence records

And pretty good cosmetic shape with normal wear and tear on vinyl which I'm replacing anyway.. This winter I'm changing to ballast bags and LEDs and new stereo. Who are you'd guys getting your covers from? And carpet? Are there kits available or just buy a roll of marine carpet and cut it to fit?

i don't think there are any carpet kits available for this boat. You should definitely post your replacement progress. I'm interested in doing this as well. Basically, remove everything holding it down, make template for new carpet with old and glue down. I've seen on similar boats it taking a good day to do.

Nice boat. If you are in Pittsburgh go to Tumac.

Yea that what I figured...shouldn't be a big deal once I pull out all the vinyl. I winterized the boat yesterday and it was cake..so now time to start tear down.

Where is everyone getting there ballast parts? I've talked to wakemakers for the bags and pumps but is there a better place? This will
be my first ballast system so I would like the convenience of ordering everything from one place..and has anyone put 230 graphics on older super air the one with griffin?

Other than used in the classifieds forum here or occassionally on craigslist, there is no better place than wakemakers to get most ballast parts. You may be able to find better deals on bronze ball valves by googling them.

Wakemakers is great, but they tend to overkill on size recommendations for the thru-hulls and valves. Search the how to threads. Some great guides on here.

Yea i have looked over every how to thread for like a month now..I'm a very visual person so it will
all come together once I start the install...and yea a lot of the stuff looks over kill but I will speak to them again and see what they say..I don't need anything crazy as far as ballast goes..last year was my first time clearing the wake on my Seadoo so I'm far from needing 3000lbs of ballast but I want to purchase all this once and be done

My ballast install is on this page of my build thread. I got everything from wakemakers.

yea brighter14 ive looked at your install 100 times as well...I have to call wakemakers back this week and go over all the options as far as pumps and fittings.. think I ma run with the jabsco or Johnson's pumps but no sure yet seeing the money I could save buy using the aerator style pumps

Looks like a paper type come tho..maybe get somethjng else to put in the cans or get something new

I added a cover sports cover. Amazing quality, little bit tricky to deal with the seller but worth it in the end.

Check out my threads for the stuff I have done to my boat. I have done a full ballast install, full wetsounds system, LEDs all over many many more projects. Feel free to ask any questions
