As requested a few close ups of the finish. Overall pretty happy with it. It's looking better now that the interior is starting to come together. Again I think if I could do it again I would take the time to properly mix the correct color tint. Seadek will hide a lot of it,but I think it would have made it look a little more factory finish.
Ignore the dirt in the pics. I had one area on the inside of the rear seat base that flaked a little. I think it had to do with surface prep. Make sure the plastic is super clean (no solvents on the plastic though or you will have major issues) and you have plenty of coverage on the edges with the adhesion promoter.
Thanks for those close ups. How bout the phisical texture? Is it rubberized or hard like gel coat? How do you go about tinting it like you were saying? Is it a DIY tinting kit or do you go back and forth with the manufacturer until you get it right.
I'm not sure if they can custom tint it or not. They may have the ability to. However, the Monstaliner comes in three parts: clear base, hardener, and the tint. You can mix and match the tints to your liking until you get it right. It would take a little planning like I ordered just the white tint, but I would order one of the tan tints and add it to the white until it blended just right. The texture is fairly hard. Not quite as hard as gelcoat as it will take a little flex without cracking. current status.
Finished the seadek project tonight. Overall I think it went well. I'd give it a 8/10. A few areas where I need to touch up the Monstaliner and a few rough edges but light years away from having carpet in my boat.
Wow. That's looks awesome. Nice job and thanks for sharing. I wish I had the skills to take on a project like that. OR even knew someone that could assist
