    My 1987 2001

    First off - AWESOME SITE...

I guess now down to the nitty-gritty I finally picked me up a boat, and this thing is in mint condition. Im 23 and a first time boat owner. I've taken her out once but haven't got to ride behind her, so you can imagine I'm STOKED about summer coming. Should have the stereo system up and running in about 2 weeks.

I am going to need some help getting the right bimini top for it.

    Enjoy the pics guys.

Sweet boat! No wonder you're stoked - at 23 I had a 16 ft Thundercraft with a 70hp Johnson OB (those were the days).

Good luck and enjoy your new ride!!

Congrats on the boat, it looks great! Even the interior teak seems to be pretty well cared for. Friends of ours had an identical '87 up until a few years ago. I have to say that the '87-88 boats were the best looking 2001's with that windshield (I may be biased, having learned to ski behind my family's '88).

I picked my boat up in November, first boat at age 23 as well. I'm still waiting to get mine dewinterized- you should be glad there's no more ice on the lakes in NC!

Congrats. Whoo hoo, Nautique at 23. You are doing something right.

I got my first boat at age 29. Got a 90 Ski. In 2000 I got a 92 Barefoot Vdrive. At the ripe young age of 38, I got my Super Air last August. This, I am sure will be my last pure boarding boat. When I am too old for that, I am getting an old CC woody of some sort.

Sweet boat! You'll love the wake it throws. Ours is the opposite color scheme but there all soo pretty. we've had offers up to 15,000 for ours so their worth it! I'm 19 an my parents are going to give me ours as a college grad present so thats my motivation! Enjoy it and show it off!

She looks in amazing condition Velocity. I'm similiar to you in that I just got my first Nautique, I haven't regretted a day since. If you search the site I'm sure you will find a picture of bimini you like, or creating a post and asking for some pics might be OK as well. Once the bimini goes on I reckon it will set the boat off even better. You've got a great summer ahead.

                Enjoy.....

guys thanks for all the comments. i got my stereo installation done, i meant to download the pictures to my computer here at work but i left the cable at home the other day. i installed it directly into the dash. i was very hesitant at first then i just told myself to grow a pair and do it. turned out very clean. made 4 speaker boxes and put polk 6.5's, mounted one 600w 4-channel amp on the panel at the drivers feet, and put a sub up in the nose. let me tell ya those polks are LOUD, it sounds pretty sick. i know this post is useless without pics so i will get some asap. thanks again for the replys

daltonhouse-ill prob try to start a thread maybe to try to get some consolidated ideas about the bimini, cause ive been searching and reading about them on pn.com, wb.com, and ccfan.com...didnt really find any info on 2001 website

Nice lookin 87. We picked up our 88 last season and its been a blast. If you click on the link in my sig you will see a pic of ours with the bimini. Purchased from iboats.com, sunbrella in pacific blue. Mounted the feet at the base of the windshield frame and the rear bow sat just in front of the ext pylon.
