New (to me) 2007 SAN 220 TE

Well, last fall I picked up a 2007 SAN 220 Team Edition. Came with everything except the heater, odd. I thought the team addition had everything on it but there is no heater located in the boat anywhere that I can see. There are some issues on the boat. The rear left and right hatch covers have rips in them and some sun damage as well as the very front seat in the Bow. The interior was crazy dirty and moldy, especially underneath the seats. PO definitely didn't leave the seats open under the cover over winter. Spent 2 days cleaning all the interior just to get her out on the water after buying it. But I did get her for a Darn Great Price!

However, overall that seems to be the only issues with the boat besides a bent fork set on the port tower side for wakeboards. PO had hit something with it and bent the bolts. I'm in the process of cutting the bolts and hopefully removing them to insert new ones.

Already ordered new seat skins for the rear and front of the boat. 4 skins in all. Thank you Nautiqueparts.com for ordering these for me and an unbelievable price. Less than $300 dollars!

Boat has the PCM ZR6 motor in it. Only has about 15 hours on it. PO had engine replaced after changing the oil and not tightening the oil filter all the way, blowing the engine. So far, I'm in love with this boat.

Has a 2009 Ram-Lin Hot Dipped Galvanized trailer with 4 wheel disk brakes and 4 wheel torsion Axles, and a fold away tongue.

I did shed a couple tears when I sold my Supra after buying this one though! Drove down to NC twice (5 hour drive) before finally bringing this SAN home to Virginia.

Unfortunately, it will be sitting in storage until Aug. Just got deployed!

I'm curious, why are parts for these boats hard to come by, its almost like the 220's were a ghost boat? This forum almost doesn't acknowledge the 220 at all. Were these boats the Pre G series boats?

I had a 220 and absolutely loved it. Best boat I have ever owned. Just traded it in. I found plenty of parts on nautiqueparts.com when I needed them. Also, my marina never had a problem finding parts either. In 7 years of ownership I had to have a tear in the fabric repaired, the steering cable replaced, the wire harness plug (to the engine) and a couple seat and glove box shocks had to be replaced as well. It also needed a new Perfect Pass display (under warranty) It never once stranded us. Boat ownership doesnt get much better than that. Congrats!

Thanks Enzo! It was definitely a change going from Supra to Nautique. Can't ever say my Supra ever left me stranded either. A few times it needed some love to start after sitting at the dock for a couple weeks but after swapping out to fully electronic ignition I never had a problem.

I love the 220, I just don't see that much information about it. There's no wiring diagram on this page for it. I feel like the 220 was the red headed step child to the "G" series. The PO did tell me this one throws a better wake than his new G23 and that's impressive. With a little time and a few years I feel this boat will look almost new again!

The selling point on this boat was the engine, my previous boat had a 454 in it, and definitely the closed cooling "coastal edition", since I live right along the Chesapeake Bay its nice to just throw it in the water for an evening of cruising as apposed to having to travel 3 hours to the lake. I have the perko flush attached to the boat with the quick connect on the transom. That thing is smooth! All I do is come home, screw the hose into it right above the platform and let it idle for 5 mins to flush it out.

That flush kit worked amazingly for winterizing, too. I hooked a 5' piece of hose up and let it syphon the RV antifreeze out of a 5 gallon bucket.

I'm having issues with the battery on the port side charging though. Not sure if they didn't gook the ground back up after putting the new engine in it or not but it won't hold a charge. When I hook my multi-meter up to it I'm showing a trickle charge to it but its very small. If that doesn't work I guess i'll just run new cables!

I really wish CC would offer to transfer the lifetime hull warranty to new owners, after 5 years. I'm about 3 years past the deadline to transfer the lifetime warranty.....Kind of stinks.

There does seem to be less 220s than anything else. This is most likely totally BS but I was told it was a very popular boat at its time. So much so it was cannibalizing the 210 and 230 sales. That's why they quit making it. Again, sounds like bs to me but I have to admit I could see that happening. It had close to the roominess of the 230 with the performance of the 210. Btw, I have the perfect combo of fat sacs for that boat and 2 tsunami pumps and specialized hoses, all in excellent condition. If you would be interested, make me an offer. With those sacs, I have never sen a bigger wake.

The 2 sacs are the large Fat Sacs. One is the tall wide one that fills the rear side compartment above the factory balance. The other is the long slender one that fits inside the compartment under the seats and the cooler. I also have a hose setup that plums them together so you can fill and drain both simultaneously with one pump.

Looks like a nice boat. I look forward to seeing another SANTE on Lake Anna. Even though mine is only a 210 and 3 years older. Stay safe on deployment and I hope you have time to enjoy it when you return.

Thank you fb_rider. I do like it very much. I've always had Supra boats before, 2 to be exact. It was a whole different experience sitting in the Nautique. However, I did always say the only boat that would get me out of a supra would be a Nautique. Then boom this one randomly showed up.

Do you boat on the hot or cold side?

Just a couple of comments to inprove your 220. I had mine for 7 years and zero problems. There's plenty of info in PN but CC discontinued production some yars ago so it's old.
1.Get rid of carpet and get seadek or leave it raw. Also place some seadek or sanopad around the platform as it's slippery for kids.
                  2. Battery port side location. Bad location that tends to accumulate water. Be sure that the bottom hole is clean and drains. If not make it bigger
                  3. Upgrade perfect pass to gps star gazer. 220 is sensitive to weight and speed. It takes a while to learn how to balance it without gps.GPS makes a huuuge inprovement.
                  4. Get an overthetower bimini from towerbiminis.com
                  5. If needed, get more ballast by piggying back some fatsacks. On wakemakers.com you can find the 220 diagrams and the parts. Much better if you get rid of hard ones and substitutes the whole set with soft ones
                  6. Change prop. I do not remember the right one but check the forum

I've had 3 boats over 34 years, and all of them have been Nautiques - a 79, a 94, and the 04 SANTE. I can't see me owning any other boat. We're on the warm side. We bought a lot there in 1989 and have only been on the cold side once since then - and that outing didn't last long - too crazy over there for me

Looks like a great event. Let me check my calendar out to see if I can participate.

                        JoseMolino,

I'm working on seadek, as long as funds allow. It might take me a couple years for that.
Already having charging issues with that battery. By the look of it the cables are pretty corroded from moisture, I've bought new cables and will be installing them asap.
I did notice the difference in paddlewheel vs GPS. My previous boat had the "Ridesteady" GPS cruise control on it from Ridesteady, I love it. I've noticed this boat loves to run away in turns! I'll definitely be looking to upgrade it very soon as well.
Boat Came with an over the tower bimini, so much more head room!
Already have my hands on the 1235 Prop!

These were all great upgrades! Thank you for suggesting them!

Enzo, what LBs are the bags and who makes them?

If you check 2008 220´s they relocated both batteries and installed in the engine compartment (at the back of the seats below the pylon). If you´re able to do it yourself that´s the best option. If your boat is not in a rainy place and water is not going to come in, you can leave it where it is.
