Must have been running really low down on power with that flame retarder blocked up like that ! I'm going through similar learning with a 1998 Air and your pics of your speaker installation have saved me trying to figure out how to remove stuff (or what's behind the drivers foot board ) - thanks for sharing !

Nice boat. That color scheme with the burgundy like you have or the dark green are my favorite colors in the older nautiques. We're those new speakers a direct replacement for the stock ones or are they bigger in diameter and require modification to the speaker mounting rings? Are the new speakers you I stalled marine specific?

We will find out regarding the power this weekend since we are headed to the lake Friday for a week+. Boat was still pulling me out like a beast earlier this season. Glad you found the photos helpful. Thanks.

Thank you for the positive comments! The speakers were very close to direct replacements. The original external pvc ring was removed and I used spacers found on amazon from a link posted on this forum. The internal pvc ring was left alone. The hardest thing about the installation was on the side with (2) speakers. The new mounting rings just barley fit inside the fiberglass cutouts behind the pad. I had to mount and move them several times before everything lined up. Other than that, everything went smooth. And yes, they are marine grade.

Cool thanks. I had a hard time finding speakers small enough to replace mine stick ones. I like the idea of keeping the fabric speaker covers. I have some nice wet sounds speakers but they are too big to mount from the rear and keep the stock fabric covers.... Might go your route now....

All put back together and interior cleaned. Ready for the lake.

Where are you located? I have been to Raystown many times. Actually kept my boat there one summer.

                I'm just below Harrisburg.

We live in Bucks County near Allentown, but have a property at Wallenpaupack where the boat is typically in the water. Prior to the lake house, Raystown Lake was our primary destination for a long time. We had a boat in the dry-docks at 7 Points Marina for a few years as well. Now we like to try and get out there at least once a season. Typically camping or on a houseboat. Absolutely love Raystown.

Best water in PA! We are 20 minutes from the Susquehanna now, so it has been a long time since our last Raytown visit. Enjoy your trip.

Thank you, I'm sure we will. Only place in PA that the boat comes out cleaner then when put in... great lake.
