    New owner 03' SANTE

    Suh dudes

Just picked up a low hour 03 this weekend. Its THE boat I have always wanted since I first saw them in 2001. something about the flight control tower always had me. the clean, bold lines have zero goofy looks to it, unlike most of the other boats on the market back then and today. This guy was custom built in 02.

I'm pleased that this boat has pretty much all the features I could ever want... I'm just debating how I want to handle its preservation, as I do live in south florida and would love to explore the salty intracoastal waterways with it. Cant decide if I wanna treat it like my girlfriend and beat the **** out of it as much as possible with necessary maintenance... or baby it so it will last forever... The trailer is kinda trashed already so I may not care about it withering away with corrosion.. hmm.

It has the renown issues with the helm valves and the belly pump doesn't work. Exploring the possibility of removing the hard tanks in leu of fat sacs.... but I may just add a 1100 pounder and keep the storage area clear... decisions decisions.

It was also fairly aesthetically neglected... so a full detail is in order. Have some 303 cleaner and protectant on the way, along with a bissell little green. Tested some spots with a magic eraser and it restores beautifully.

only thing its really missing is the bimini boot. So I am in search of how to replace it.. and I would prefer to have some transom tie downs but I'm not sure what the two rear guards do under the rear platform...

anyways let me know what you think!

little mishap on the way home....

sh!t was very very sketchy. with no transom straps, either.

boat was dropped off at 7am at a trailer shop that was closed on saturdays... i was 100 miles from home

I considered leaving it until this ghetto black guy walked past and said "hey man, is that your boat? thats NICE!"

It was that moment I knew I couldn't leave it unattended. I finally found an open shop that could replace what was needed (studs broke off) and pulled the poor boat 4 miles on the bare hub. People were looking at me like I was crazy AF.

But the hub did fine. I was expecting to replace it, but I had it taken off, replaced the studs, then slapped that bitch back on and drove home.

having a wheel fly off going 70+ at 3am was no fun

            Great looking boat!

Yikes with the broken stud but glad you got her home safe!

As for trailer ties downs, lots of people including myself use the platform brackets. I have been doing it for 4 years with no problems at all. I was sketched out at first but many people on here do the same since the transom cups hide the lifting rings which would be your other best option. You don't really want to remove those cups because they help to prevent exhaust gasses from rising up and getting to rear seat passengers via the "station wagon effect". Another side effect of removing them is water splashing up through the holes in the platform.

Be very careful with the magic eraser on the interior. I would try to get it as clean as possible with the 303 cleaner and only use the eraser if absolutely needed. Then get everything good with the 303 protectant and you should be good.

If you can figure out the bimini manufacturer I'd reach out directly to them. You might have to go the custom route with the bimini boot but any decent upholstery shop should be able to bang that out quickly and cheaply.

Replacing the rear tanks with 750s will still leave you with some storage on top when they are full.

ahhh, I was right about to remove the cups... looks like I shouldn't! thanks for that info

ill keep that in mind about the magic eraser. there are quite a few spots where cushions meet other cushions that are stained as a result of not wiping/drying. Now I get why my dad was always so anal about it..

The bimini is the stock option that came with it from the factory. Under the tower. who makes the factory bimini?

The transom cups keep breaking off of my boat. The boat came without them. I have been through two pairs from Nautique Parts. The originals are NLA and the re-pops they have are slightly different so that could be why they are breaking. I am working on designing something that will hook to the bottom of the platform and cover the holes in the platform above the lifting rings that will solve the exhaust and splash problem. I plan to have it on a spring hinge since so I can still get to the lift rings from the top side as my cover straps go through the lift rings. Once I get that done I will post on here if you or anybody wants to copy. In the meantime I wouldn't stress about using the platform brackets as myself and many have been doing.

As for your boot, will one of these work? Not sure who was making the factory bimini back then.

Sounds like an adventure already. Congrats on the boat. X2 on the 750s in the back.

I I had a similar issue where the seats touch. I used simple green home and siding or something like that and then conditioned everything with condition sauce. Worked quite well.

Awesome looking boat! Sorry about to read about the misadventures you had with the trailer already.

The boot that s_kelley2000 posted looks exactly the same as what I have on my factory tower mounted bimini (which I would assume is the same since I have the same tower).

                    Enjoy! Post more pictures!!!

We only lived a few miles from the ramp and on those trips I usually didn't tie down. Bad habit, yes. When we ventured further out we did as most everyone else does and tied to the platform brackets.

And what happened to your impeller!!? Hopefully no damage ensued?
