New GS20

If I had the 409 in my 210... I might not have made the switch from a 2016 210 to a 2017 GS20. I still like the GS20 better but it would have been harder for me to rationalize getting rid of a good boat less than a year old for a new model.

Hmmm....I have the 450 in my 210 so now I'm really torn on which way to go.

Well... I still like the GS20 more. My comment was more on what I personally needed to rationalize the bath I took on getting rid of a 1 year old boat versus a brand new - high demand new model. And I emphasize the word rationalize versus justify:-)

I might have skipped the bath if I had a bigger motor in my 210. That doesn't change the fact that I like the GS20 more.

Beautiful boat. You did a great job with your 210 also. Have you found any difference in the comfort for the passengers from a seating standpoint. I remember my demo as being pretty comfortable, but it also seemed that the seat height was a little lower when compared to my 230. With the decreased freeboard, the seat backs seemed lower. Again, I don't remember it is uncomfortable, but I was just wondering how you felt they compared after 20 hours in the new one. Last question, could you throw a couple additional 400 pound sacs in the back to see what it can do for the surf wave?

My demo saturday is bringing extra lead weight. I told him I wanted to see it slammed for surfing and also empty for My cx superlite ho ski.

Thanks. The GS20 driver's seat is just as comfortable as the 210's and that's where I like to be. :-)

Seriously though... I've had no complaints from anyone on the boat. I had the extra port and starboard seatbacks in my 210 and was worried about my family missing them on the GS20. My wife (who cares nothing about skiing and only about comfort) likes it better without the seatback because she can stretch out at the observers seat without removing the backrest and finding a place for it amongst all the gear I have stowed and she says that there's more room around the table she puts up for cocktail cruises. The lower freeboard doesn't bother us. I like it better. They absolutely LOVE the bow seating on the GS versus the 210. Way more comfortable with my wife, son and dog all fitting easily at the same time.

I only own one 400lb sac. I gave my other L shaped sac for a DD boat away when I bought the 210. I know someone that loaded up the rear of another GS20 with sacs and they said the surf wake didn't benefit until they added another 600 to the bow. They said the wake was VERY impressive with all three but not that pretty with just the rear. The GS20 rides a lot lower in the bow while surfing than our 210 did. In fact I don't even flip up the driver's cushion to the tall position anymore (I'm 5'11) and I always did that in the 210 when surfing so that I could see over the bow. Also the boat is sensitive to where the weight is distributed and I've noticed a big improvement in the wake by moving a person to the bow when I have 4 people in the boat.

If I get a chance to borrow some sacs (or if you want to send me some to try out) I'll take some pics or video. I'm afraid to try it because I hate filling the **** things up with the portable pumps and if I like the wake, I'll wind up spending more money than I should getting them plumbed and wired to work with the others. Alternatively, If I get a chance to load the boat up with 7 or 8 peeps... I'll take a picture then too.

Thx, I appreciate the input. I am trying to rationalize! If I new that I could get a surf wake that was close to my 230 with some additional ballast, it would be very hard to hold myself back.
