I am really torn on that! I was planning to remove it immediately, but it is so out of place on that boat that it is almost cool.

Story is that the original owner was a pro fisherman, and had Budweiser as a sponsor!

It is still on for now while I decide.

Get the tabs working Jeff,they look like Bennetts. There will be times you want the bow down to help cut thru rough water and other times you might need to balance if you have one side heavy. Comes in handy in conditions like this- over the port bow railing is Skippers Rum and between that is the Banana Boat on Lake George Fl. Used the tabs to keep the port side high to try to keep the water out and the Admiral calm

You're right! That's the way those trailers were built though. That's an original 1981 Correct Craft trailer.

Perhaps replace the hydraulic trim tab actuators with electric. Then no pump with which to deal. electric actuators are pretty cheap.

I'm happy with one boat... maybe I'd be 3X happier with three? Glad to see your kids involved.

Jeff, I assume that boat is built for salt? Would you take it on the intercostal?

Yes, and yes, after a few repairs! I took it on a longer trip around Lake Norman today, and it ran OK. Max speed right now is only about 20 MPH, and RPM's seem pretty low at WOT, so something isn't quite right. I also need to get the rest of the gauges working. I did fix the voltmeter, oil pressure, and temperature gauges, but the tach and the fuel gauge are still dead. Intercoastal would be a fun place to run this thing. My buddy here at Lake Norman wants me to take it to his place in the Bahamas. That would be a blast, but it isn't anywhere near ready for a trip like that yet.

The reason I ask... is I would love to see that boat with outriggers.... sport fishing on calm days off the NC coast.... I'm not kidding.

Been fighting a pretty good leak since I put the boat in the water the other day. Tracked it down to the rudder packing last night. Looks like I get to drop the rudder soon! I may even install the missing safety wire.

I had one of those "always wanted one of those" moments and bought an 87 Fish Nautique back in 2008 and had it for a few years. Had I been able to redo the. Pay as planned it would have been awesome as the hulls are great. However the old schools 351 is just a dog in that boat.
