    Our G23

Just got delivery of my G23. Took it to lake Nacimiento and had a great time. Any G23 Owners out there! My Bimini boot ripped while driving. It was the way that came from the dealer but it looks like either it wasn't tight or it was upside down. I would assume they know how to put it correctly but it got damaged never the less. There is a net strip that goes the long way on the boot but is only on one side. Will this go up or down? Any comments will be appreciated it.

    Thanks,

Netting goes on bottom side when pulling boot on. Same deal happen to me on ripped cover. Check to make sure dealer put bimini boot fastners facing inside vs outside on the bolts just behind the rubber knobs on each side of the bimini boot. Mine were installed facing outside which is why my bimini boot ripped and was tight as well. Once I changed the bolts to facing inside all was good with bimini boot. Dealer covered repair of my bimini boot. Ripped bimini boot attached. Great looking boat BTW.

My bimini boot ripped while towing as well. I couldn't get your attached file to open. Can you post a pic showing what you mean about the bimini boot fasteners facing inside vs. outside?

Rocketman was right. The knobs were facing out instead of facing in. I still can't figure out what the knobs are for but once I put them in the inside the boot just slided all the way back. interesting to me that nobody at the deal was able to catch this since it was difficult to put the boot on or take it off. Here are some pics. Click image for larger version

I see the knobs that you are referring to now. I had it wrong I was talking about the plastic knobs. Does were not a problem for you? knobs.pdf

Yes those were a problem keeping boot tight but the bolts I circled in my picture are the bolts which ripped my Bimini boot and problem your Bimini boot as well

Gonzaga....the knobs on all the bimini's stay on the outside all the time. Even with the travel boot on. He was talking about the small bolts that rip the cover as I'm sure you have figured out by his last pic. The knobs are how you lower the bimini with the tower to fold it. I have to fold my tower and bimini to put my boat in the garage. When you unscrew the knob, there is a "Holding" hole labeled G for your knob and 210/230 for the other models. This stores the knob so you don't loose it when the tower is folded. Hope that makes sense. Awesome boat you have !! Enjoy.

Gonzaga: Kenv is correct . Take the bolt out I circled and flip it around backwards so the threads face to the inside. This is the bolt which ripped your bimini boot.
