Thanks Swatguy,
I brought her a couple of years ago after many months of searching through different boats. She has only seen fresh water and I am
her third owner. Stripped her out at first and started at the basics with steering packing and engine alignment, etc. **** tricky thing to get those
solid ballast tanks out and in again!.
I have a slight drip from the rear main seal on the engine (PCM GT40) and am looking at changing out the seal ( engine rotates anti clockwise when
viewed from the bell-housing ) + steering cable whilst at it in a couple of weeks. Boats been extremely reliable and provided many hours of fun for the family so far.
Cheers!

Yes Evening Shade, Started out as a what I thought was a RMS but turned out to be rear of oil pan gasket so engine out..whilst there with 790hrs on the engine changed out big end and main bearings, timing chain and gears, polished crank and installed speedy sleeve + front and rear main seals.
The biggest headache was the water pump gasket..turns out (in Australia) that the Ford circulation pump is off a 1965-1973 Mustang! Got one easy once I worked that out.
Engine back in the boat and running sweet as of last night so only alignment and shaft connection to go today and ready for the water for another 20years

Finally got around to installing the tower speakers. Running an 1800W mono block amp for the sub and a 1000W 4Ch amp split between the tower and boat speakers.
Added a switch in the side of the passenger seat to isolate the tower speaker when not required.
Had to use a set of spotlight mounts for the speakers until I can track down an original set of mounting brackets. If anyone has some stashed in their shed and wants to shift them along lot me know.

Thanks Glassywaters. It does help when you have a good base to start from. These early Nautique’s were built to lastI order a new custom cover for her from Covers Direct in SC last week and it’s shipped today, so hoping it’s a nice fit and will keep her well protected for many more years to come.
Cheers,
Brad
