As it starts to get cold here in Australia it’s time to start my restoration on my 2001 SAN.
I brought it about 10 months ago and didn’t have much money to spend on it ( as we had our wedding on in September last year) so I brought what I needed to get it running ok for summer had a awesome summer with but now it’s time to get serious and clean it up and get it to the way I want.
I have been reading everyone’s posts about the same models and has been very helpful I have a few questions to ask as well.
im just wondering if anyone would know what raw water pump mine should have? (Gt-40) The one on it now just looks so wrong it’s held on with a bit of aluminium angle and does not run inline so I have been chewing my belts and they have been snapping. Also it doesn’t seem to have enough power to suck the water up from the pick or I might just have it plumbed the wrong way, I would love if anyone could share anything with there setups.
thing I’m going to do to it during the resto are
- new upholstery
- new carpet
- pull the motor out and clean it up , I have already Replaced the alternator, starter motor , transmission oil colour,I have rebuilt the water pump but I want to swap it over to the original water pump.
- I’m going to have a crack at fixing the gauges, if that doesn’t work I will replace them.
- also want to getting my perfect pass working ( think I might need to replace it as no buttons work on the display)
- want to clean the ballast system up as well, I put it in myself at the start of the season and I just need to change a few things on it now.
