Just park any Nautique next to any Centurion (or a lot of other brands) and look at the difference in quality between the gel coats. Nautique has never used high quality gel. It’s such a shame because it doesn’t cost that much more to do. We can never get that deep shine out of our boats like many other brands. I learned about this after questioning two different fiberglass shops about why I can’t ever get that deep car show shine out of my boats. They both said it’s impossible because Nautique doesn’t use high enough quality gel coats. Bummer.

You are referring to the window stopper correct? Did it leave any sticky residue on the windshield when you pulled it off? And how hard was it to pull? Also how do you plan on reattaching it elsewhere on the window / windshield?

It actually left a perfect black thin layer on the glass(was just curious how tight it was on there). I trimmed it to half the thickness and will reattach to the same spot so I don’t have to mess with the location

By thinning it down a bit....will it let the window go down a little flatter??

Yup. It sits close to the hinge so every 1/4 thick this thing is the gap is exponentially more pronounced

Thank you for your explanation. I've never heard something about a low quality gel coat on a Nautique.... but I will accept your statement. Jfyi: My G shines incredibly, of course only after the fresh polish

Probably referring to those of us who have had gelcoat issues with our Nautiques.

Got pics of what it looks like. It may be hard to tell but after trimming it to half it’s thickness it sits muuuuch better/lower

I just don't get it?? Why didn't Nautique just do that from the get-go...put a shorter stopper on there. Does it function the same in protecting the windshield??? If yes...then why the huge stopper that lets the window sit up "all ugly"....LOL

Ya it works the same...even though that part seems like a cheesy design it works fine...from the time I have had it open it’s stabke.

Interior is reef blue and exterior is reef blue metal flake. The metal flake color was a bit darker than I expected and I love how it turned out with the slightly brighter/lighter interior.
