I picked up my 2002 Sport last Saturday. Counldn't be more proud to be an owner of a Correct Craft! I've already completely detailed the boat (not shown in picture), which includes cleaning and oiling the teak swin platform.
Just a little about my background: I have dreamed of having a Ski Nautique dating back to 1986 following the first time I went out in a buddies 86 2001 SN. I graduated from college in 87 and finally bought my first inboard in 89 (used 87 Supra Comp TS6M). I ended up getting the itch for a new boat in 1992 and started dreaming again for a Correct Craft. Unfortunately, the CC dealer in my area was not willing to really deal on a SN, therefore I ended up with another Supra Comp. I've very "happily" owned the Comp for the last fourteen years (still dreaming CC though).
I ended up seeing this used 2002 Sport with 135 hours on it and determined that it was the perfect boat for our family (married with a 5 year old daughter). Someday, we may want to put a tower on it or upgrade to another CC in five years or so.
I did purchase the boat with a new 2005 Ram-lin trailer. The pin for the break-away tongue was rusted in the hole. I have now gotten that free. It does seem to be difficult to effectively use the break-away tongue option on the trailer however. Do others feel this way?
My first real project on the boat is going to be making the adapter cable to be able to mount an IPod to the Clarion XMD1 stereo using the CD Changer input. I purchased the hardware and will begin this project next week.
Anyway, very PROUD to be a Correct Craft owner, and thankful that all of you make up such an informative owners website.
I'm trying to come up with a new screen name to replace the no longer needed "WANABE"!
