    1999 Longhorn Nautique

This is the boat I learned how to Jump, Trick, Slalom, Air Chair, Barefoot, and booze cruise behind. It’s been a number of years since I’ve seen her and she’s pretty much been sitting that long too. She needs some work.... well a lot of work but I am happy to say that today, she is mine and I am taking her home. Passed down from father to son. One of a kind burnt orange (used to be) gel coat color and custom graphics straight from Correct Craft, this boat is all original. I am very excited to join the forum and bring this very special boat back to her former glory. Looking forward to sharing the rebuild process and recreating the same memories with my future family.

Dom! Glad to see ol’ horny is yours. Congrats and Good luck with the restoration, that was always one of my favorite boats on McQueeney. The wake was insane for a direct drive. I just got done redoing the interior of my 05. still a few things I want to do though. Are you keeping it in Austin? The slip next to mine on lake Austin will be opening up in a few months if you are interested.

Here’s a couple more pics. She definitely needs some love but nothing that’s irreparable. Plugs, wires, impeller, prop, bilge pumps, old stereo, and mangled wiring has all been replaced. Oil was still new from the tune up prior to her sitting for as long as she did. Drained the fuel tank and ran some injector cleaner through. Took her out for a sunrise ski run on Friday. Boat ran beautifully in the driveway and on the lake. I’m am getting some vibration from about 1000-2000 rpm when accelerating. It was this vibration that caused me to buy a new prop. The prop shaft turns smoothly with no binding. I am thinking either my new prop is slightly out of tolerance or possibly prop shaft. It’s time for new prop shaft packing anyways. I’ll start with having the new prop inspected and go from there.

Anyone know where I can get this portion of the floor board? It’s completed delaminated and bends easily under pressure.

The entire dash was stolen out of the boat in 2008. This is how many hours she ran from that point to now. Best estimates are the hull has about 3000 hours. The boat was skied behind almost every single day from pretty much 1999 until I went to college in 2008.

That floor looks like a prime candidate for a DIY Sea Deck Job. . There are a couple of posts in here that go into detail about their process and experiences along the way. Glad to hear you got it out on the water already!

I would love to go Seadek. I’ve even called Seadek to see if they can locate any of the templates I’ve seen on here. They said they cannot located any templates unless I have an order number or name. Right now I have neither of those so I’m not sure what to do. I don’t know if I want to go through the template process. The gel coat and laying down the material seems fairly straightforward but the template creation seems like the hard part. Since there are a few different Ski/Sport/Air direct drives with Seadek, I am hoping someone will reach out and give me a little more info so I can order the kit.

I almost did mine (wish I would have instead of new carpet). I talked to a girl named Kaylor Little that does the templates using some sort of digital scanning process. SheÂ’s an authorized sea deck installer, but doesnÂ’t do prep work for floors or anything. Just measuring for templates with her device and laying it down and gluing.

She works for www.castawaycustoms.com and services the south/central Texas region. I would reach out to her and see what she says.

You might also try calling Roswell marine and see if they have any templates, I know theyÂ’ve done a few older ones, they might be able to help.

Small update. Finally got the new decals dialed in! Finally found the proper Nautique font. Couldn't tell you font name but it's pretty darn close. We went back and forth on revisions and size but the designer nailed it. I wanted something a little special and not completely OEM but still appear OEM from a distance. Went with a domed decal with neutral white interior, gold flake outline to match the gold flake pinstripe on the boat, and zephyr tan shadow to match the zephyr top stripe on the boat. Bottom photo is a comparison of the oem decal from an online listing.
