    New to the Nautique family

Long-time boaters and wakeboarders/surfers, including Mastercraft X30, Centurion Typhoon, and a number of runabouts over the years. Moved from Colorado to Florida Keys and bought a Yamaha 242LS due to our shallow waters, got it surfing decent but ultimately bit the bullet and bought a 2019 G25. Incredible boat !!! Of course its wake/wave are amazing, but it is also a great size for the Keys, rock-solid crossing big-boat wakes without a rattle, Steering Assist gets us in/out of our canal and waterfront restaurants with ease, super quiet ride, great sounds, very well laid-out interior, pretty much a 10/10 so far. And, btw, Reef Blue may be a bit much elsewhere, but perfect for the Keys.

gary s We live on a canal next to Pennekamp so use that ramp to launch/retrieve, but boat is on a lift in our backyard so we just drop it and go.

Not there yet but I live 6 months of the year across 1 from you just a bit south of the pink building. Your sharp looking boat will stand out in a sea of outboards for sure, I'll keep an eye out for you

Miljack Ha, yes, we are pretty much the only wakeboat I see down here, not uncommon for the fishing boats to slow down and check us out (quote from one captain friend: "No thanks, I will stay in the boat, we call that trolling"). No shark or dolphin sightings while riding yet, though they are all around, just have to take a deep breath and jump in.

Update: pod of 7-8 dolphins joined us for a surf session. Crazy cool!!! Keys have been closed to visitors for COVID-19 lockdown, seems the wildlife is really enjoying the quiet waters and reduced boat traffic.

                            This is great!

I started a thread looking for surfers in the Keys awhile ago--but apparently you're the first ones: https://www.planetnautique.com/vb5/f...a-keys-surfing

Any problems with your boat down there? (Shallow water, etc.) How much time to get to a spot that is suitable for surfing?

Shallow water is always on our mind, part of our canal is 2’-3’ deep so at low tide we fill front ballast, move everyone to front, and slowly bump our way out. We live oceanside so 15 mins from dock to surfing in 15’-20’ of water. Probably sounds crazy to all of you on deep lakes, but that is deep water in the Keys, until you get to blue water. Inboards are amazing all-around boats, back platform is great for diving, and I mounted rod holders where the board racks go, set perfect pass and troll for mahi. Lash cooler to the back so all the mess stays outside. Pretty funny, actually.
