Platform question: 1999 Ski Nautique 502 Python

I recently purchased this boat and couldn't be happier, however I've realized that there aren't many out there nor is there an owners manual. My specific question is about the platform. I'm not sure if this was a previous owner's decision or if they were made like this but mine has 10 holes drilled in the platform (5th picture down, IMG_4219). With the unique engine and increased "wobbling" of the platform I'm wondering if there is a reason. The problem is that when in idle and low speeds the back seat gets splashed. I'm considering plugging the holes while I have it out of the water but would love to hear some professional advice: is there a reason these holes should be there? Will filling these holes hurt the boat or cause any unforeseen problems (exhaust, etc)? Thank you in advance for any and all input!

I don't believe those holes are factory. Not sure why those would have been added.

It is clearly ruined now and you should just give me that boat (and the other in the boathouse).

Thanks Jeff! That's what I suspected, any ideas for how I should proceed? The Chris Craft is a 1951 Sportsman, if you're ever in Minocqua, WI come by and we'll take it for a spin. Not pictured here is a 1979 Nautique and 1957 Chris Craft Capri, the boat gods have shined fondly upon us.

Pythons are notorious for rattling the heck out of the swim deck, my guess is those holes were an attempt to reduce the rattling.
Plug them up temporarily and see if it makes any difference

You could always buy a new platform too. A few websites have them. That is one awesome boat.

Ok, I have to ask. Is a 502 Python basically a big block stuffed in that hull? That motor box looks huge.....

Yes.

They were used for Jump and Ski Fly, and some people got them just for the cool factor.

I'd love to have one one day, just to say I have one.

Day-um. Lotta motor in a little boat. Did they reprop them? The holeshot has got to be life threatening! And my gas card is getting warm all the way up here in the PNW....
