    First Nautique - 2004 SANTE

After looking for a year I bought my first Nautique about a month ago and have really enjoyed all PL has to offer. Solid, used boat in pretty good condition with new interior and really good sound system.

I replaced the stock rear ballasts with Wake Maker plug’n play bags because my wife and I like to surf and needed the back sucken down a bit woth the extra weight. With the Swell wake shaper it really produces a nice wake that I’ll keep tweaking as I get more familiar with the boat.

I’m missing the flip up cooler seat and cup holders on the port side but have the replacement skin ordered and will be building the box myself at some point. Don’t plan to use it as a cooler though since i need storage space...and more cupholders.

Just wanted to say hi and thanks to many who have posted helpful DIY articles and information that have been extremely helpful. Can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent searching this site, even before I bought a boat and created a profile. This week’s project has been removing the Launch Control System ball valves and Flow Rites with the plan to set up electronic actuator valves like so many others have done. I wondered why my ballasts filled up on their own! Thanks to many of you I now know why! BTW, these ball valves don’t want to come off!

Again, thanks a bunch and hope to add some of my own information to help others very soon.

Here’s a few pics of my ride, with a before and after pic of ballasts. Hoping to finish this valve issue and post pics soon.

Thanks guys. For anybody struggling with these ball valves in the future, get a 1 1/4" socket and half inch drive instead of wrestling with wrenches to get them off. Mine were really stuck and I was able to finally break them free with the socket.

Bit of a change in plans this week. I had a hard time finding explosion proof actuators in 12 vdc so now I'm just going to install reversible pumps and simplify the system. I'd like to still use the dash buttons like GeoffW did in his restoration post (which is excellent btw) but for now I'm going to set up 3 rocker switches so I can get it functional.

Custom bimini should be here soon to match the color combo and now I'm looking for a new shifter knob since I had a "woops"!

Any chance you're in the Pacific Northwest? I seem to recall a boat with those colors for sale in the Crescent Bar area of Washington..... Very unique, really pretty.

I'm in Houston, TX. I got pretty lucky with this color combo, and the gel coat is in really good shape too.
