Hello all,
I’m the new owner of my first ski nautique. 1996 196 CB. First order of business was changing the steering cable.
At the stern of the boat I noticed this clamp with ball joint and sleeve when I was removing the old cable.
Should I be replacing these ? The ball joint looks shot.
Is it normal for this clamp to be laying on the bilge floor like this? Looks like it has been slopping around a bit.
Also there is an upper and lower hole on the rudder connection and the l bracket that is coming through the hull of the boat. The previous owner had it on the lowest hole.
Is this correct? Why two settings?
