After reading too many horror stories about tow rigs ending up in the water from slippery ramps and not having 4-wheel drive, I traded in my 4x2 05 Navigator for an 07 F250 Lariat Crew Cab. The diesel engine pulls like a locomotive and gets much better mileage. I took my 220 to the truck scale and it weighs 6200 lbs w/1/2 tank of gas & no gear in it. The trailer is heavy with that tube construction. The truck doesn't ride as nice, but that is the trade off for having a true towing machine. The color matches much better than the Navigator & now I don't have to worry at the ramp anymore.

Thanks everyone for all the nice remarks! If it doesn't rain, I am planning on taking my 220 to one last trip for the year to Lake Mead over the weekend.
GAnautique: My trailer is an Extreme trailer, made by Tom Hunsucker and his excellent crew at Extreme Engineering in Riverside, CA. The workmanship of the trailer is incredible, especially the paint job. I really love the custom rims that Extreme offers on their trailers. It was a little pricey for a boat trailer, but worth every dollar. I know it also may be a waste of money to put fancy rims on a boat trailer, but it the boat does spend more time on the trailer than in the water and I figured for my 220 should ride on the best and in style.
01superair: Sweet setup you have! I really appreciate the fact that your rims on the truck and boat match. I am also curious about the tower cover. Where did you get it and how do you like it?

The tower cover is made from HBP, it is the tower sock and it is really worth the money. It takes about 15 minutes to put on by yourself but saves you hours of cleaning once you get to the lake or get back home. It is custom made from the measurements you send them and it is water resistant. Here is a link to their website.
