    Exit XStar Enter G21

Hello All, I am BrushyCreekXS over on that other site ...now just joined PN and am BrushyCreekG21.

Dating back to the late 90's I started my boat ownership with a '94 Pro 190, in 2006 bought an X30 and then in 2008 bought an XStar...kept it for 15 years (06 model)...This weekend I purchased a '22 G21. Long time MasterCraft owner...first time Nautique owner.

I love the boat. The tech is pretty crazy when you jump from 2006 to 2022!

I look forward to participating on this board now...pic of the last day of the XS on the lift and the first day of the G21 in the same spot...then a few pics of the G.

Wow, congrats! Very nice G. My BIL is a MC guy (ProStar 205, X10). They're nice boats, but you've come to the right side.

Thx Guys!! I have to confess I spent the evening laying in the boat, drinking good beer with a good friend listening to 70’s rock and waiting for the sun to come up to take her out on the lake! 1am going to get a few winks and then go run up some hours appreciate the kind remarks!!

BrushyCreekG21... congrats on the new boat! Smith Lake is a gorgeous lake. I frequent there with friends on Crooked Creek. I haven't been on Brushy in years... I've heard it is much more populated then back then. Looks like you kept dang good care of that X-Star!

Thx core! Yeah they have been building out the Northwest side of the lake unfortunately...could not keep it a secret forever. Still a lot of Bankhead Forrest shoreline though so there is still some pretty land that cannot be built on yet. I got my place in 2007 and there wasn't a dock near me...not so today.

Thanks for noticing the Star. I loved that boat. I had just been working on the gelcoat to get it back to new looking...the interior was as close to perfect as a 06 could be...some of it still looked unblemished...overall in great shape. My dealer told me that was the best shape they have taken a used boat in...I have to say I didn't want them to see me shed a tear when they pulled it out of the water and put it on their trailer...but it was time for new...This is the first boat I have ever purchased new. The Star only had 50 hours on it when I bought it so it was close.

I looked hard at MC before I bought, but the G21 seems to be the perfect fit for me. I know the G23 has all the legends built around it and I'm sure it deserves the acclaim but I looked at both and the G21 was my favorite between MC and Nautique options. We are pretty excited about it.

Thanks so much Scooter! These boats are so solid! The engineering is pretty incredible with a good taste for beauty. I was sold on it.

I think you are right. It lives in the shadow of the G23, but it is an awesome combination of size and power...the biggest thing I see giving up from the Star or from the G23 relative to size is the bow...the difference in cockpit is noticed but for me not as meaningful...the smaller bow is just a tradeoff...and I have never had any boat with the transom seats so I think we will enjoy that as the trade off with the smaller bow....
