New to forum, but have been reading for a few years.

I have had my 216 for about 10 years. It started as a restoration project because it was damaged in the 2011 Tornados that swept through the south, It became a labor of love and ended up being the perfect boat for my family needs. This forum has helped tremendously and thanks to everything be for contributing. I plan to contribute some of my own repairs and replacements in the near future. But along with thanks to this forum, thanks to C&S Marine (upholstery), Wayne at New Dimension Towers (new tower in 2023), Nautique Parts (for pretty much everything), and my current project with Ron/Sara at TRD for a new gauge kit.

Your boat is not a "Pro Air", and that's a good thing. The Pro Air Nautique is not known as a great hull.

The technically correct name for a 2007 216 is "Crossover Nautique 216".

Really? I thought that the difference in "Pro" was having TWC with the chines on the bottom (which mine has) versus having no chines (like TSC).

Whatever it is called, the 216 is a great boat that is pretty good at everything I need (skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing) but not a standout in either of them. Since I am a skier, I didn't want a larger Nautique. Since my kids aren't professional wakeboarders, the wake works for us.

I typically go to Smith Lake. Although it is getting crowded. I have been wanting to try Tim’s Ford.

I have not liked the Tennessee River when I have been on it. I have tried areas around Ditto Landing and Preston Island. They are all shallow, dirty and have debris. I will not put in anywhere near Decatur because of the proverbial “3-eyed fish” from the waste products of the 3M plant.

Do you have any suggestions? I wouldn’t mind trying a new place.

I hit all those areas, but TN River out of Ditto is where I normally roam. I wouldn't call them "shallow" as it's 15-25' depending on exactly where you are. Further up river past the Flint River can be decent depending on wind direction. Same can be said down river between Ditto and Triana. Anything much past the I-65 bridge and you get near Decatur and yes all of the questionable industry runoff into the river. Yes after heavy rains you will tend to see some floating debris, but that's just normal river stuff.

Smith Lake is my favorite, but weekends are all but pointless for decent water unless you're way back in some of the fingers. It's just gotten really populated in the last few years the more land that is opened up for building. During the week it's MUCH better!

Tim's Ford is a great lake, similar to Smith Lake with not quite so much crowds, but it can also get bad.

Guntersville Lake is decent in some areas, but similar to Smith and Tim's during warmer months... just too many people with lake houses these days giving quick/easy access to the water.

Well, my education never stops in life. I thought my boat's sticker under the windshield said "TWC". But I got her back this weekend and the label on the hull says "TSC 2". The below thread showed where I found the info that made me think I had a "Pro Air". My boat definately has the chines on the bottom. It isn't smooth on the bottom. But, I'll just go with crossover 216. Although, I was reading that the 216V was a crossover nautique and it is a V-drive. Naming conventions can be confusing.

A Sport and Air both have the TSC smooth hull.

Jason, I'll look for your boat this summer.

"15 s 25 feet" is what I call shallow, haha. Especially when Smith Lake is always around 50' and can be hundreds of feet deep if you are in the area of the Dam (Smith is 510' is full-pool at the Dam). Years ago I went to Lake Logan Martin and bent two props over the coarse of a week. I am nervous at anything less than 20' deep.
