Finally got our 211 wet this weekend after an odd spring. The lake was empty, the water was butter, and the weather was ideal. The water was only 60 °F, but that didn't matter to me one bit! It was a pretty awful week because of some terrible news on my dad's health, so it was nice to take a brief respite in the boat.

MN Ryan, Def. hard core in the water at 60 degrees and no wetsuit, but I totally get the jonesin' to go, when it's time, it's time, no barriers. Water is the magic cure you mentally Zen!
We were at 66 degrees this weekend, cold enough to think "this is nuts" on the entry, but just perfect after a heated board run.
Sorry to hear about your Pa, our best and Prayers to you & your Family...

MN Ryan - likewise, sorry to hear about your pops. Come on now, we've chatted before and 60 degrees isn't that bad! Heck, we won't hit that here until JulyBut respect for the no wetsuit, that's dedication. Way to get out and start the season. Planning on picking up my boat this weekend, ready for some high 40-degrees water (with a wetsuit)!

Yeah, I have been keeping my eye out for a deal on a wetsuit to extend my season. One of these days, I will find one!
I agree, 60 isn't too bad. The day before, I actually took a 15 minute swim--it felt great on my aching back, knees, etc.

Nice one - nothing wrong with a little cold weather therapy! But I am a sucker for the wetsuit action until either the water's in the mid-60s or the air is in the 80s. So basically July and August up here.

Welp - picked up the G last Friday, got out on Sunday and surfed in 53-degree water. Shorty wetsuit because i forgot my full one at the house. Brrr. Then it snowed today…
Four fairly significant issues that the dealer missed over the month that they had the boat. Since they’re a 12-hour round trip away, hopefully they can send me parts and I can get to wrenching. Oh joy, another ballast sender replacement *sigh*

BasaltRMK Our son's 11U baseball team lost 2 heartbreakers yesterday which left us with a rare free day. Cooler weather kept boat traffic down, but water temps were at 72! I did score a very nice wetsuit for $40 off of Craigslist this weekend--obviously didn't need it today, but I'm excited to extend my seasons a bit!

GMLIII I would say June through mid-September is about average. All depends how big your cajones are--my wife, son, and brothers in law are wimps. Myself and my daughter are pretty hearty. I tend to go mid-May through September. April 26 is my earliest with no wetsuit.Last edited by MN Ryan; 06-11-2023, 08:56 PM.
