Very nice! I went with a gradient gray w/ a black background, but now you've got me thinking about maybe some black chrome domed (say that 3 times fast) lettering, hmm...

I did domed in red Nautique font (red/white hull) with chrome outline. They look awesome.

So I just performed my first oil change on the ZZ8S at 75 hours; the dealer performed the 25-hour service as part of my purchase package. I follow the excellent guide that greggmck put together, complete with a high-pressure quick-connect fitting on the oil drain line. This was the easiest oil change I've ever done on a Nautique! I was a bit concerned, since the engine hatch is considerably smaller in this generation G23 than in my previous G21s (only the top opens, not the top and front). However, there's tons of room and access in this rig, once you clear out starboard rear locker. The oil filter (really, the only tricky part previously due to access restrictions) is readily accessible, made the whole process a 30-minute breeze.

One note, I reached out to PCM about their oil recommendation. Per the online Technical Specifications manual for this engine, they spec 0W-40, but do NOT specify Dexos 1 / Gen 2 for the supercharged engine. I use Mobil 1, so I specifically asked them if they recommend the the European Car Formula (not labelled as Dexos-compliant) or the Emission System Protection (is labelled as Dexos-compliant). Their response was:

"We have dealers out there that have been getting the European formula, but either one of them will be fine."

I have read that next year they are changing the Dexos spec to just Dexos D (diesel) and Dexos R (gasoline). So let the oil spec wars continue...

Wow 75 hours since mid-June, that's super impressive!
I bet your loving that 630HP @ 8000' elevation. I can't remember, are you running a high altitude prop on that, or does it even need it?

Loving that beast . Just talked to a guy on our lake with a 2017 G21 with the 550 supercharged engine, and we’ve got 4 mph WOT on him with our G23. Not that I’m counting or anything

I spoke to Acme in June and they didn’t have a high altitude prop for the ZZ8S yet. They and Nautique recommended that we stick with the stock dinner plate until further notice. And we’ve got no problems hitting the 5,600 WOT rpm, so honestly I doubt I’ll change it.
