    First post... new member!
There is no tower now because we are trying to find a good fold down one so we can put it under the cover on the lift. This weekend will be the first big weekend with it out. We just got it in Feburary... only picture for now. More this weekend!!!
It is sitting on the dealers delivery trailer since it stays on the lift.

So what was wrong with the factory Nautique tower? Did it not fold down enough to your liking?

We never tried it because we were told by the dealer that it was to heavy to be doing everytime we took it out. IT stays at my parents house and they use it and we were afraid it would be to difficult for them to do.

You ggot a 236 without the 236 tower?

Have you seen it in person - the thing is incredible. Even if it is heavy it would seem worth working some system out for folding it more easily. Could you rig a pulley or something into the skeleton of your lift, for your parents to operate more easily? If it is not too late for you to reconsider, maybe you should. I can't see any other tower on that boat. And certainly not a Titan which is what I would guess would be Correct Craft's next recommendation.

Titan was their recommendation. I just saw pictures of Jeff's 236. It is unbelievable... I would even take it without the speakers which in and of itself should drop the weight a great deal. We are still talking about it. We may end up just getting the dealer to order it and put it on.

This is just my opinion now... but the Titan tower on Correct Craft boats phenomenon has always perplexed me. There is nothing about the lines of the Titan that compliment those of ANY Correct Craft.

The Titan relationship is a business one an a business one only.

With the combined brain power on here, we'll help you figure out a way to rig something to make that 236 tower fold down more easily if it is truly that gangly and heavy to move. After touring the Correct Craft plant and seeing the 236's tower on several 236's and several being prepped for installation, I can't say I've seen a better tower - ever. Particularly one so specific to the lines of one boat and one boat only. Sorry if this opinion comes off as too strong, but the 236 garners strong opinions from me overall - it is my favorite boat from them since they introduced the original Super Sport, and the tower plays a big role in that boat's aesthetic.

I'm sure that there will be 236's out there with Titan towers, just like there are 210's with Titans. That doesn't make it right though

              Erik,
First off I appreciate your opinon because I have not seen one with a tower except in pictures that goes for the 236 as well as any other Nautique. 2nd this is what I love about online forums they are great places to find help. So I will wait and see what happens with this. After this weekend we will probably be in a hurry to get one and I would rather get the OEM tower.
              Thanks again,
              Stuart

I agree with Erik 100%, you definitely need to get the OEM flight control tower on that boat.

Also, why the Nautique graphic instead of the Air graphic? Is it a Signature edition?

Because there is no flight control tower there is no "Air" therefore it is a Signature edition.

I much prefer the graphic package on the Signature edition - I have never liked any of the AIR batman logos - not one single iteration of them actually even the ones that some are now calling "old school". Sorry - still garish and ugly and thus don't belong on a Correct Craft. You definitely did the right thing.

But I had no idea that they would ship the 236 or 220 without a tower to begin with. When I interviewed Steve Carlton who designed the 236 and 220, he said at least with regard to the 220, that the deck itself was designed toward having a tower as a standard feature, not an option... And I quote the interview:

Erik Jernberg - Why isn't there a "family" or non-Air version of the 220?
Steve Carlton The 220 is a wakeboarding boat and a wakeboarding boat specifically - and was built as such. For example, if you look at the deck, you will see little recessed pockets where the tower is mounted. That should give you the idea that we knew that this boat would never be delivered without a tower, and didn't want there to be any confusion about it. By contrast, we can build non-air versions of other models and later convert them at the dealership when necessary.
Does the 236 have these same pockets? My photos indicate that it doesn't but I could be wrong. I don't know off hand so I am not sure what the vision was entirely. But I think many people are coming to the conclusion that "Air" Nautique or not, this is the best wakeboarding athlete's boat that Correct Craft is making right now.

That is an interesting color combo - but one that would be very nicely complimented by the finish on the 236's tower - I really like the color you chose for the top stripe. It is going to be a very classic looking boat once you get that OEM Tower!

Pulled out my 07 brochure to see if a 236 is available without a tower and sure enough it is. Also doesn't have the tower mount/pockets that the 210 and 220 have.

You can get any CC boat without a tower, including the 220. You can also get a limited 236 which is what Stuart's boat is. You can order the boat with or without graphics and the dealer can put different graphics on if you want. Just gotta know who to talk to!
