My 2002 SANTE is the first power boat I have ever owned. I had a small Prindle sail boat that almost caused a divorce, so now we turn the key and go, much less fighting.

I had always used my dad's boat before my big purchase. Nothing like starting out with the best!

Wow, those colors look GREAT. I really like how the interior looks. That boat is outstanding.

I'll give you a bit of advise about the black stripes on the vinyl. Be very careful with the sunblock. I dripped a little bit on my black stripe, and it discolored it pretty quickly.

thanks guys. I'm really happy with the boat. I owned a master craft before my nautique. I am happy that I made the switch. Every time I roll to the lake i get a ton of people asking questions about it and if they can get a pull behind it. Although it is a lot of work to keep clean I'm happy with the all black hull.

The main thing that I didn't like about my mastercraft was the wake. I had an X-10 and I had to fill the stock ballast and then add 3 more full sacks and a bunch of people. With the nautique I just fill the stock ballast and throw some friends in and we are ready to go board. I don't have to mess with the additional sacks. The wake is big with stock ballast and about 7 people.

Jeff, I read your post regarding the discoloration of the black stripes and being careful with the sunblock. Are there any other colors you know about that one has to be careful with? I am looking into having the primary and secondary stripes in white but with the accent stripe in black. I could change it to blue if this other color won't fade.

I would hate for the black color to fade or to have to be very careful with sunblock, for example.

I have always heard that you should be careful with sunblock on Nautique vinyl, but I have never really paid much attention to that. It seems pretty difficult to keep all sunblock off of the vinyl. We are supposed to sit on the seats, right??

I neer had a problem with it in my '94, and was only slightly cautious with the sunblock in my '03. It doesn't seem to affect the white at all. The spot that I noticed was on the wide black stripe on the engine cover near the swim platform. I am guessing that I came out of the water and a water/sunblock mixture fell from my body onto the stripe. There are spots there now that I wasn't able to remove. I'm not 100% certain that it was from the sunblock, but I can't think of anything else that it could have been. I'll try to remember to snap a picture next time I'm out. Maybe someone here will have some suggestions.

BTW, this vinyl was just treated last week with 303. I would have hoped that that would have given it some protection.

Congrats on the new boat, GREAT choice!!!!! The black looks real sharp with the blue. Get use to the attention you get with it, it's common with nautiques!!! Congrats again.....real sweet boat!!
