progress photos of my 98 Super (Air) Sport project

Well I have really made some headway on my project. I got the hull and deck sanded, buffed, and polished. Stripes retaped, new rub rail, new steering wheel, installed the tower, and started installing the stereo. I have a ton of other little things that I have done like a tuneup and etc. I still have a ton of other little things to do but I feel now that I will be finished by our season start in March. I wish I had better before pictures because this boat was trashed on the inside and out.

Its a good looking boat. I wonder why anyone would trash a Nautique. Glad you are bringing it back to outstanding condition.

Looking great, Brad. Sorry I missed the end of the day product. I got back up there around 5 pm and watched the end of my decal/pin striping work. The silverflake stripe turned out great. Nice and subtle versus the original black stripe.

It was a doctors boat and they never cleaned it since it was new. My dealer sold it new to them and did all the service on it. Mechanically it is great, just really dirty and molded.

Looks great! I'm loving the ND tower. Is that a Monster Logo I'm seeing on the back? LOL, nice. I would love to meet up with you guys sometime and get some input on my boat. Someone else's opinion would be nice. It would defininately help me prioritize what needs to be done.

You have the boat looking good. I see your from Tyler. What lake do you guys ride on. I am from Greenville. We went to a lake on Tyler about 2 years ago and the lake was low and messed up the trailer pretty good on my friends boat. We were by a golf course. ANyways you going to put any decals on?

Was it a small lake in Tyler? If so, that's Bellwood. When they're watering the golf course, it can get low. I dropped my MC trailer off the back of that ramp and had to lift it back on . No small task, but fortunately no damage.

Water levels were up again last year and remain really good.

More often than not, my family heads to Caddo and try to avoid the alligators and snakes.

Thanks for the compliments I am super proud of it. No ballast yet. I plan on doing something custom this summer after I get over the shock of how much I have already spent. I still have the interior to get finished and the stereo. I am waiting for samples from Nautiqueskins.com for my deck and seat back. Then I am installing the pile of stereo parts in my garage that includes a polk 400.4 and a 500.1 monoblock for the 4 polk momo interior, 4 polk momo tower speakers, and a polk momo DVC 12.

So far I have kept the project under 18K and that is with the purchase of the boat. It has taken alot of shopping and me doing most of the work. But in the end I dont know of a better boat for wakeboarding that can be had for under 20K.

The Monster Drink sticker is kinda a joke. All the guys I ride with all have one before we ride so it just was fitting to have it.......

The lake you are refering to sounds like palestine by the first bridge on FM 344. That ramp was horrible and had to be rebuilt. The golf course was probably Emerald Bay.

I believe you're right about that being Lake Palestine at the marina by Emerald Bay. I live only a few miles from that ramp and I still won't put in there, Even after they re-did it. I typically put in at the ****. Seems to be about the best place right now If you just had to go to Lake Palestine.
