    2014-Current 210 Tower Down Cover

I just got my 2017 210 home, and noticed after getting it in my garage with the tower down the cover will not work with the tower folded down. I prefer to cover my boat on the lift to keep it cleaner while I am gone during the week, and the canopy and frame I have the tower has to be folded. My old 210 the cover worked while the tower was folded down. I called Nautique, and I guess they discontinued the tower down version of the cover. I would prefer to find/have made a cover to work with the tower down, rather that buy a new canopy frame and cover that would work without folding the tower down. This would also never be trailered with the tower down, only used while stored in the garage or on the lift. So if anyone knows of where to find an old stock, or if someone has had one made I would like to find one before spring comes.

Not sure where you are, but I know you can get a tower down cover from Buxton. I’m like you, I deleted the factory cover on my 2018 210 order and they are having a local shop make me a tower down cover with extended side skirts.

I love my tower-down covers, and I use them almost exclusively. I very rarely use the tower-up cover anymore.

See this thread for the changes to the tower-down covers over the years:

Nautique Parts can get the factory tower down cover fairly spendy, I am also waiting on a quote back from sewlong. Jeff do you know does the Bimini on the 2017 210 work with the tower down cover or does it have to be taken off every time the cover goes on?

Sounds like an awesome cover for people who keep their boat on a lift. How much does the cover cost? I would like to see some pics with the cover installed when you get it.

He did a zero cost swap for me with the factory cover, so assume it’s similar cost. I know a good friend and a tower up cover done from the same place to drape the whole boat like the G covers do and think it was $1200 or so.

Cedarcreek with the custom tower down cover and side curtains how do you deal with the Bimini top issue every time you put the cover on while the boat is in the lift?
Seems like a lot of work breaking down the Bimini top frame and assembly each time you put the cover on. Maybe I’m missing something here, please advise

I will post photos when we get it, should be a couple weeks. But our last tower down cover was design to work with the Bimini in the forward position in the bow. The new 210 has the spring loaded Bimini so it no longer needs the pole support when laid forward. I am sure the canvas shop will just design and create a cover based on measurements so it fits perfectly. Give me a couple weeks and I will send an update once I see it.

Look forward to seeing pictures. I thought on the spring loaded bimini which I have on my G 2017, that you had to take off the bimini assemble to put the tower down cover on the boat

I was told no, that the Bimini acts as the pole or support for the cover, but I guess we will see.

                        Hey Jeff,
I’ve read your post about changes on the tower.
I’m looking for a tower down cover too but is their any change to have a tower down cover without removing the Bimini?
because removing the Bimini each weekend is not a fair deal haha.. 2017 Nautique 210 Bimini with surf pocket
                        thanks

I am an idiot and completely forgot about this thread. I got my boat Saturday and we even fitted the cover to make sure it fit correctly since it’s the first the canvas shop made for the new 210. It works awesome and am super happy with it. That said, the new Bimini with the shocks acts completely different when in the down position. Yours, like our last boat, will fold all the way into the bow and rest on the grab bars. This is how we had to put the Bimini on our 2014 for the tower down cover. The new Bimini with the pistons does not go all the way down, it sticks straight out over the bow seats. That said, I bet with the support pole in position in your Bimini sitting in the bow seat like it does, I bet they are pretty similar. If you are interested, I can get you contact info for the canvas shop, I know they have measurements for pretty much every boat and every situation. I will get pics next time for sure.

Thanks really appreciate it. The 2017 have the new Bimini too (with piston) I even scrap one when I stored it lol.. when you lay down the tower the pistons do their job but when you lift the tower up if you don’t pay good attention I folded one piston when trying to put the Bimini in place. Simply call dealership and shipped me one a week later, sound like it’s a problem that many people have because they don’t even asking photos or anything..
now i just remove piston little pin and let them loose when I play with the tower.

for the canvas I appreciate ! But I’ve done my homework today and called few companies in the city. Looks like some does it custom directly on the boat to be perfect fit.
                            thanks!

I think that is the best option, to do it locally. Any canvas shop worth anything can do this in their sleep.
