G23 cover & rain

We've had a few big storms (short ones) this summer, and Ii was surprised by how much water pooled on the cover. It was pretty heavy and challenging to dump it all.

From googling around, it seems like Hangtyte is my best option, but I wanted to check with this group if there is something else I should be considering.

Your boat/top should have come with 2 poles (one for the front and one in back) to keep the top elevated. If you do not have these poles may wanna check with nautiqueparts.com and see if they can order you some. But Hangtyte is also another option as you have mentioned.

correct. I use the poles and they work great but a slight nuisance to step each time I put the cover on. I just received a hangtyte and am going to try to install it this weekend so I can be pole free.

Thanks for the quick response. Mine didn't come with any support poles, but the I don't believe my cover has "snap-ends" for the poles to mate. Does yours, or do you use the universal fitting?

mcosub , lemme know how the hangtyte goes. i'm a little hesitant to cut the cover, but I agree that it looks much easier to setup on a regular basis. I suspect only one is needed in the rear of the boat, but placement would be key.

You'll need to use the poles. It certainly doesn't take long to put them in. Hangtyte won't keep the front from filling like that.

The newer factory covers come with a hangtyte-style cord, but I still use the poles every time. It only takes another 30 seconds or so to install them.

Where do you place the poles in your picture? Under the hangtyte end? and one in the front?

I also find the poles a pain in the a** to install, but will do it if there will be rain coming. My question is, if I wanted to get a new cover with the hangtyte as pictured above, as is now standard on 2018 G series and newer, will it fit my 2017 G23? the tower on the 2018 is 6" higher than the 2017 but I'm assuming that hanging cord is adjustable.

As long as there is leverage, I believe you can place the hangtyte wherever you'd like. I ended up putting two on my '16 cover. One in the bow and one slightly behind the tower.

It's worked well thus far, and no need for poles.

NautiqueJeff - Do I put the slightly longer pole in the bow or the shorter one? I find with the hang tight system the pole in the cockpit floats off the ground regardless of whether it's the longer or shorter pole. Are you supposed to put it the seadek on the rear seat or just let it float? This is is for a 2019 G23.

You could quite honestly fabricate an aluminum bar that somehow attaches temporarily to the tower and extends forward to create leverage for a hang tyte for the bow, but I have never had an issue using the support poles.
