2016 G23 Bimini connections/install?

Recently purchased a used 2016 G23, and loving it (also still figuring it all out), and I feel like the bimini isn't on/installed correctly, particularly in the front.

In the front, on both sides, there is an extra loop, and the buckles go underneath the metal harness. Would be awesome if someone was able to take a pic of the front of their bimini fully opened so I could compare the difference and make any adjustments.

I don’t have any pictures of mine, but the buckle is supposed to go through that little loop that’s hanging down. Here’s a link with instructions. Check page 5.

Just to confirm I'm reading it right, the buckles go above the frame (when looking up). The instructions say "OVER", which suggests that, but then says between the frame and the canvas
