2018 G23 Tower/Bimini Folding Question

Hi, I'm new to Nautique and this forum, and cannot figure out how to properly store the tower in the folded position, with an over tower cover. The problem I have is the small shocks on the bimini rest on the windshield, and the weight of the bimini is bending them. I've followed the owners manual exactly, which says to use a towel to protect the windshield, but surely this wasn't design to bend the shocks in storing position.

I thought about popping the shocks off on one end, but I plan to store in this position after every use, so I'd like the procedure to be as minimal as possible. Any help is appreciated!

Also, one other question... Would an over tower cover for a 2016 G23 fit my 2018?

Unfortunately with a 2018, there is no easy way to do what you're trying to do with the factory cover options.

In 2019, it is easy. In 2018 and prior, it is not possible without a custom cover, except in 2013 and 2014 using the pole to hold the bimini (but you have to have the right bimini for that). See the thread I linked to above for all of the details.

Definitely put a towel on window or even something thicker like a life jacket. The window can and will be damaged when lowering the 18 model G23 towers if not careful. Mine was damaged somehow before I took delivery of itl, so was luckily taken care of by dealer. I've since lowered the tower with dealer to see exactly how it was done and its easily done if not careful.
