    Dallas Canvas Cover Question

Can anyone give me the good/bad/ugly low down on the custom "over the tower/platform/down to the waterline" boat covers made by Dallas Canvas? The covers look really nice and would certainly accomplish my goals, but I don't want to spend the money and find out that I don't like the cover.

I'm looking for first hand personal experience with these covers. Things like:

    1. Does the cover completely cover the sides and transom (below the swim platform) to prevent UV oxidation?

    2. Do board racks have to be turned in all the way to put the cover on? (my racks won't turn all the way in because my tower speakers are in the way)

    3. How difficult is the cover to put on/take off?

    4. How well do these covers hold up wind etc while on a boat lift?

    5. Does the cover cause chaffing on the gelcoat/tower in any locations?

    Thanks In Advance

    Shade

    1. Yes
    2. If you can turn them 90 deg back you should be fine
    3. It is awkward at first but once you develop a technique it’s easier than factory cover because you don’t mess with poles
    4. I’ve had mine for 3 years and it is in great condition. I did upgrade to sunbrella fabric.
    5. No

This cover is probably the best boat related purchase I’ve ever made. Keeps the interior and tower spotless and keeps exterior from fading in the sun.

      Thanks for the reply.

Does your cover completely cover all the way down to chines on the side, especially toward the bow of the boat? It looked like the cover didn't go all the way down to the chine on a fellow PN member's boat (at least it appeared that way in the pic that I saw).

What secures the bottom edge of the cover from being blown up by wind?

It has rope ratchets on both bottom sides to draw the cover in tight to the hull. The cover is heavy enough that I rarely use them but if you tighten them up it’s not going anywhere.
