Might as well ask which religion is best. You can tow with that cover on. Should you? I say don’t do it. It could mar your gelcoat. Other people think it’s fine.

Get a big roll of pallet wrap. I put 2 wraps under the edge. Then cover...

Or a loose seam will give way on the cover or a bunch of other things. But as stated above you might as well ask which batteries are best or what motor oil is best. You'll get the same holy war responses.

The key to trailering with cover on is to get the cover as tight as possible . If it moves it will scratch. I added three straps on the side and two straps at the back . I have not had any problems on my 08 210.

Anything that rubs the surface can mar gel coat. Like ski ropes during skiing, for example, or a cover flapping even though it is properly secured. But if you know how to mechanically compound and polish gel coat (and you probably should if you own a nice boat) normal marring and light scratches come right out.

Plastic wrap then tow with lots of straps towed 1000miles no problems, also note was behind a motor home it's probably better as it's in the back eddie of the motor home towing with a truck more wind

If I’m towing long distances I remove the non-hinged seat cushions and stow them in the rear lockers. For local trips to the lake I don’t bother.

I tried to tow with my cover on one time. 2014 G23. Not 30 minutes into trip had to take off due to flapping of side. had to take the cover in for repair. that was end of last season and the cover was probably the issue. i dont think ill ever try the cover on again.

Yeah watch out for your Bimini top cover as well. I just finished repairing mine after towing home and one of the seams let loose.

You have to cinch the bimini down with a certain way with the straps to make sure it dies not tear

Mine has 2 thick straps about 6" off center, one on either side. Had both of them in place. The seam let loose almost in the center where the cover bends around the frame in the corner. I had bungees on the ends but air must have gotten in through the end. Next time I'll add bungees in about 4 places around the frame to keep everything tight. That's the problem with covers and towing at highway speeds though. It doesn't take long for a cover to get frayed if a seam does let loose and fixing canvas isn't cheap, take my word from personal experience on that one.

I don't tow with the bimini up . I have a 08 210 with titan tower very easy to remove . I wish I could tow with tower down.
