Am I the only idiot who has put on their Bimini cover upside down...

And had it fill up with rain water and dump all over the cockpit?

No you are not. In fact, the service dept at a Nautique dealer put mine on upside down. When I picked the boat up I discovered that it was full of water.

I've done it. No water but my bimini had a sreak of dirt/dust down the middle from the vent. Almost never got it off.

Even if you put it on right side up that can happen. Mine sat outside at the dealer for a week or two and the top of the bimini was full of water the next time we opened it.

So what’s the strategy to deal with that situation? Lower the tower so it dumps out the front? I tried to take the cover off and it dumped all over the helm including the screen, etc. I was pretty sure I had ruined something, but it is all working fine.

I know this is old but I took a punch, heated it with a map touch and with the top folded poked it through the areas where the water stands. Now instead of filling it will just drain as the water builds. The holes are tiny and have caused no issue so far.
