    176 mooring cover

Just bought a 1996 176 and love it. I had a 20” Sanger. I have a standard size slip in a marina with a hydro hoist. On the Sanger I bought an over the counter generic cover (Overtons) that fit perfectly. That cover had a series of 1 inch plastic clips sewed into the edges. I attached the included long connecting straps to the lift and I had a perfect setup; it was easy to reach all of the boat from the dock and was very easy to use.

The 176 is a smaller boat with a narrower beam and the distance from the windshield to the bow is very short. The boat came with a snap trailer cover which is impossible to put on while the boat is moored and on the lift due, in part, to the standard size slip with a small boat. Also this cover encompasses the swim platform and I will need to stand on the platform to secure the cover in the the back.

Now with all that said, can anyone recommend a cover that is easy to use given the above constraints? I see that Nautique sells a custom (allegedly—-vague description) cover for a 176. Does anyone have one of those?

    Advice please?
