Could tell the rough paint on my tower was eventually going to do just what you are showing (G23). I ended up buying some extra seadeck padding for the back of the boat and decided to place some of the extra scrap material on the tower where it contacts the bimini. You could also apply felt tape, or even thick duct tape to stop the chaffing (will likely need replacing every year or two if you use duct tape). Obviously not much can be done to recover your current bimini. I also try to pad the pressure point with cut up swim noodles while towing with the bimini boot on the boat to prevent this issue on other parts of the canvas.
