Can you let me know your thoughts on an over the tower cover specifically with Dallas Canvas & Upholstery. I tried Sewlong but they are telling me they don't have pattern for 2014 230. They only have it with their bimini. They actually referred me to Dallas canvas. I currently have an over tower cover mad out of Sunbrella. Do you recommend a lighter material or stick with Sunbrella? What is the quality of Dallas Canvas. Where I previously had mine made requires me to take and leave boat which is a pain as I don't have trailer because I leave boat on lift at house. Appreciate any feedback.

I've a Dallas Canvas over tower cover for my G23. I give it two thumbs up.
It's a few years old, and has worn a bit on the bow (there's a 1/4" sized hole), but it is otherwise in great shape. No failing stitches or tears. I might have an extra panel of material sewed into the bow section at some point if the hole gets bigger.
The fit is good. I store on a lift in a boat house. The boat house sides are open, so the cover gets a little rain when stormy. Without support poles, the cover doesn't collect water. It might, though, if fully exposed and used without poles. I don't know. The cover covers nearly down to the chines if I've got my bimini open, and it hangs a touch lower with the bimini folded. It hangs yet lower if I fold the tower (which I do in the winter). It also covers the platform. They were generous with the material, so it is not hard to fit. I never find myself stretching or repositioning it to get it over an end of the boat.
It's not Sunbrella - something lighter weight - as I don't need Sunbrella. But even so, it is still thick canvas and quite heavy. It is a bit of work to lift from the ground onto the boat. So, I rigged up a cargo net that hangs from the celling of my boat house, just in front of my bimini. I roll the cover up into a ball on the bimini, and then roll the ball off into the cargo net. It works great.Last edited by g_force; 08-05-2021, 04:57 PM.
