Anybody seen or heard of these new Komodo boat covers?

I am in no way affiliated or do I have any attachment to this company. Just came across these that are in a startup phase and thought they were interesting. Something completely new. curious what people think.

Never heard of them but that's not surprising as it looks like they've set up a go fund me type of page for development. Past that I'm not sure what this is exactly. Is it a winter cover or a summer cover? The issue I have with it on either is there is no side protection. If you're storing for the winter/summer outside long term then you really should have something that covers as much of the sides as possible to protect the hull from UV. If this is for on the lift type of storage I'd have the same issue with side coverage plus the PITA factor of putting it on as you'd have to inflate and deflate the frame every time.

I do like the concept for long term summer/winter storage but think it needs to incorporate some kind of side coverage for added hull protection.

I am thinking it’s an every day cover type thing judging by how they talk about having to put the boat away wet…………With the ability to double as storage cover in those areas that need it.


side protection is a must for outdoor long term storage for sure.

It’s a cool idea, but you’re adding a failure mode to your boat cover - spring a leak in that frame and you’re going to find a swimming pool when you get back to the boat two weeks later, right? Might not be such a big deal out west, but around here I can see it being an issue.
