Over-Tower Winter Storage Cover Recco (2000 SAN)?

The opinions which matter have decided that the extremely effective tarping of the boat last winter is unpleasing to the eye...

Looking for recommendations for a weather-resistant (think Seattle area - stored outdoors) over-the tower cover for this winter. Likely to keep our custom-fit cover on underneath to do what we can to minimize water intrusion, run electric de-hum, may even consider a tarp under over-tower cover as belt+suspenders if it seems reasonable. Any recommendations? Hoping for something off the shelf rather than another $$$ custom cover but realize I may be asking a lot....

I'm in the area area and feel your pain. I contacted sewlong and learned they don't have patterns for a lot of boats..including my model. Curious what you find for your boat.

I have success with the following approach. Apologies in advance if this is all captain obvious stuff. Tip the tower forward or even remove. On my 206, removing the top portion of the tower takes about 20 minutes with two people - just two bolts. I built a small wood internal tarp frame that I set over the lower tower bars to prevent pooling. Removing the tower gives you a lot more tarp options and of course reduces visual presence. My tower has no speakers/electrics and am able to store outdoors away from the boat. Consider natural colored tarps...brown, silver, green. I'm using the silver and it's reduced the visual profile. Consider ordering a custom sized tarp for a neater fit. Improve the tidy fit of the tarp with stretch bungy cords. Pull your swimstep and keep in the boat.

In the boat I have two thermal electric de-humidifiers and two of the one gallon dri-z-air. I put the mooring cover on and then apply the tarp setup. All this works well...boat stays dry and I have no mold issues.

SilentSeven , those are some good tips for the tarp, if I get my way, and we stick with tarps, I'll definitely employ :). Sounds pretty similar to what we had with the electric dehum, mooring cover and tarps. Also had no mold issues and found the boat dry whenever I ducked in to empty the dehums and install the stereo upgrade last winter/spring.

I do have one and I reuse it each winter. It is a very thick and durable plastic with a soft liner on the inside. I do not shrink it but it does have a draw string to tighten it and loops to attach bungee cords. Also has vents to help with ventilation.

I have reused the Transhield that comes on the new boats from the factory. If you are careful removing it, it can be reused, even if it had heat applied.
